So the VIP section extends to the front of the stage area? (it's not just off on the side?)

Just a quick message to anyone camping. I'm staying nearby, but will likely not get to the festival site each day until about 5pm. Yesterday we came for Wolf Parade, but not surprisingly, the PJ posters were sold out by then. If it's not too much trouble, could I please ask some camping (if you're going early to pick up a poster anyways) to pick me up a poster?

I don't think we're going to go today as there doesn't look like too much rock/alt music (not really into dance music), but I could meet you onsite Sat night (should be there just before Billy Idol) and would happily compensate you for your time. Please PM me if you could possibly do that. Thanks so much and hope you all have a great festival!

Same with us. We're staying in Whistler but will probably not go to the festival today. Tommorrow is a pretty good line up though. Mastodon!!!

I'm going for Cold War kids and Kaleo today.

Upset I missed savages yesterday. Line up to get in was stupid.

Shuttles SO much busier on way home last night. Long wait

I think killers will have biggest crowd as its Saturday's and a fair amount of people will leave before Pearl jam

The VIP section is kind of unfair if you ask me

Getting in was ridiculous eh? There were only like 20 people in front of us, and it still took like 35 minutes in line. Security was taking things a bit overboard.

No mud. Overcast with a few light showers. Merch tent was well oiled. I walked right up and got shirt, poster and stickers. Most people were there for other performer's stuff.

I think the only way to have a car there is to be camping. To me the lack of parking is the biggest drawback. That sucks that the shuttle's are a total shitshow. I was wondering about that. Say's the only go for 60 minutes after the last band ends, but that's not enough time for a round trip to whistler, so they'd have to have enough buses on hand to fit everyone in one go.. crazy.

Either way I'm in squamish and 24 hours from now I'll be watching PJ :)

We have a long trek post-show, and the dumb ass shuttle is only the beginning. I'm a little worried about it.

Yah. Most comments I was reading the reddit say the performers are kicking ass, the but the festival organizers have done a shit job with everything. I've never heard of a venue that you couldn't drive to. It's pretty crazy. Would only suffer it for PJ.

Zod & Pistol, go to the FAQ section on the Pemberton site, the click on "tell me about Pemberton shuttles"...there is a sort of secret parking site on the North Side of the site, they don't advertise called the "Pole Yard", it is past Pemberton on the 99, past the festival site, and when you get to Mt Currie, you take the right turn on the 99 to Lilloet, then at the second left driveway, you make a left into a lumber yard. It's free parking, and from there it's only a 5 minute free shuttle back to the festival.

I've parked there every day and it's awesome as it's free, and most importantly, your don't have to spend an hour on a bus back to Whistler with a bunch of drunk, drugged out teens/20 year olds.

    Good luck!

So then it's just into your vehicle at that lot and drive south to Whistler if I understand correctly?

Yeah, there are fewer shuttles running to the Pole yard, so sometimes it's a little harder to discern which busses are going there. The busses are not marked, so you just need to go to the leftmost stand when you're leaving and ask one of the attendants Other than that, it's fantastic.

For example, as there's only one or maybe two busses on that route, and if you've just missed it, the bus may take 20 mins or so to come back to the festival to pick you up (that happened to us night 1, and instead of waiting we were able to catch a cab for $10). But we could have just waited.

But if you catch it on time, it only takes 5 to 10 mins to get back to the Pole Yard.

Also if you say "pole yard" and the attendant looks confused, just say "the Northbound line".

100% do that as the shuttle lines are ridiculous. Last year I literally didn't wait. This year I've waited anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes. There's no system so if you pick the wrong line you could wait much longer

Taxis were few and far between, but if you're lucky you might score one. You'll just have to explain to them where the Pole Yard is as it's proper name is the parking lot for "Continental Log Homes".

Yah I've now starred it on my google maps, and predownload the map for the whole pemberton area. Won't be a problem :) Seems like that lot has better options that bussing all the way to whistler.
