wierd.. so you saw an option to have it mailed out (opposed to electronic?). Damn.

btw how does the parking pass work? Is there a parking lot near where the shuttle picks you up?

I'm not really sure I've have always camped.Since I'm a Founder I have a North camping/parking pass.Im sure they will signs and various parking lots around Whistler.
Ahh ok. You're going for the whole thing. That makes sense. I think the electronic method (and pick up your wristbands in whistler) was for single day tickets...

Anything purchased after the"cutoff" date. This was just due to the event of a postal strike. All tickets purchased from now on require you to stop in whistler for wristband and parking pass pickup

I will say the organization of camping in particular this year is horrible. It's totally confusing
I have a camp pass that I need to sell since I'm now doing the shuttle from whistler. Registering your camp plot, needing a separate camp pass on top of a "ga camping ticket", and separate Parking pass is just utterly confusing.

Why they don't just sell x amount of ga camping and x amount of ga shuttle like every other normal festival, is beyond me

The festival location and vibe always makes up for their poor organization and I'm sure this year will too

For parking your best bet as day tripper is to Use whistler creek side in the big designated lot and take pemberton shuttle from there. Can also do so in the village parking lot, but I'm sure it'll Be busier

A couple of years ago Tyler the Creator brought his own skatepark to the festival. Maybe he will again this year and entice Jeff to get out there!

I printed my Sunday one day ticket and Whistler shuttle pass from home. Do I need to worry about a wristband?

Yes. Read the page you printed. It has the Whistler address where the required wristbands must be obtained.

Any locals know if the Pemberton shuttle is across from the Pemberton hotel at the train station again this year?

And for all you lovely creatures with ancestors who crawled from the ocean to celebrate with music in beautiful British Columbia, here is my ode to Pemberton, saluting PJ for rocking on!

    13 days 'til Pearl Jam!!!
  • chittychitty Posts: 574
The app is updated and it has Pearl jam only two hours on Sunday 930-1130. Probably means they play until midnight in reality

Noel Gallagher is 715-815 on same stage. Than an hour and fifteen break on that stage until Pearl jam

Yah we can hope they play more than 2 hours... at least there's a 1h15m break before PJ hits the stage. I've been to a lot of festivals where shit happens at the schedule gets thrown off, so if you have a curfew, someone has to play shorter to make up the lost time. Maybe if it runs on schedule PJ can take the stage a bit early and play til the midnight curfew.

It is kind of funny how a standard length PJ set from 5 years ago is now consider to be short :)

Is there any word about when the merch booth will be set up?
Will it be open and opperating the whole weekend or just on Sunday?
Id like to get my merch out of the way so I can enjoy my weekend.
    Any info would help.

    Thanks 10C! :)

Vancouver posters are never that hard to come by. I fully expect them to be onsale on the website for months after they go on sale. We're going to the black sheep of the tour :)

I would expect they have limited merch space (lots of bands playing ever day). Probably a day of kind of thing.

There is a big Pemberton merch tent which has Pemby goods all weekend.
As far as the bands go they like the merch changes everyday.
I'm just hoping PJ backs up the truck on Thursday and starts the money machine!

Judging from the app, there are a ton of people wanting to see DJ Snake who plays between Noel Gallagher and PJ, but on another stage. This is good news for those of us who want to get close to stage for PJ!
I am not doing it by any means, but curious to see who is waiting all day for rail for PJ or will anyone? Might be one of easiest shows in along time to do so
  • ZodZod Posts: 9,943
No I won't be going to rail, not a good idea when going with one's wife. We'll probably wait for the crowd to think out after Gallagher and try and find a decent spot to watch from.

I think your right about the rail though. The die hard's travel up and down the East coast but they rarely come out for shows this remote :)

This will probably be my one and only chance to see PJ on the rail so I am happy to hear this.

Been a few places to shows, excited to see what this one entails. Haven't been on the rail for a PJ show, we're gonna give it a shot. My only worry is having to drive back to Seattle right after, gonna need an energy drink or two.

Is anybody considering the $344.00 one day VIP ticket? Has anybody gone with this package in previous years and can comment on the experience ?
  • chittychitty Posts: 574
I've never done it, but I believe you get either free or very cheap alcohol.
I do know the VIP area around the stage PJ plays on. It's on what would be Mike's side and has a narrow section which would be front row. So if facing stage in front left edge of stage. Then the vip area expands out from there but on an angle away from stage. There's elevated viewing points too, but further back.

My opinion, $344 is a lot for vip. Spend half and do regular.

Hoping they come out rocking from the start of their set. The Ride festival looked cool and chill, but it'll be better to end off Pemberton with a bang!
