I love this song and it's like my 3rd favorite on the album...Knights of Shame, Jump on My Shoulders, Sail, Not Your Fault, All I Need, and Kill Your Heroes are all excellent songs
  • Great song and album. I saw them a few months ago open for Neon Trees. Loved AWOLNATION; left halfway through NT's set. lol.

October is going to be a good month. Pearl Jam in Philly 2 and Bmore, and AWOLNATION is headlining Towson's homecoming. With my connections I should be able to get backstage to meet the band. Could be cool. Either way I get to see two bands that I really like.
  • I thought for sure this thread was about this:

    Best video ever. Period.

  • someone wanted to hear some 'trap' version of that sail song in my car (I have decent system) a few months ago. I kind of liked it because it sounded sweet....I bought the whole album and yeah, I love it pretty much front to back. Some songs are a little too ....hrmmm bubblegummy? "Burn it down" and "Soul Wars" gets me fricking amped when I get in the car and blast it and make up for the other poppier songs....I just learned, this album has been out for quite a while. I thought it was new lol

and yeah the Cat-Sail is the best video

Got a VIP package for the show in Michigan next week! finally get to meet these dudes after 4 years, 5 shows, and many lineup changes later! Lucky for me, they are playing a short acoustic set at a bar not far from the venue before the show!

I am very curious how an acoustic set will sound with these guys?!?

they have done some acoustic performances before... they arent really always acoustic, because they have so many electronic elements. Im excited because i hear they are learning new songs for this tour.

here are a few "stripped down" "acoustic" shows:

Saw them recently, awesome energy! But I was probably the oldest person in the crowd by like 10 years lol. Only realized after the show that Zach Irons (son of Jack) is now touring with them.

Zach just recently joined them last year after their guitarist of 6 years, Drew Stewart, left the band to spend time with his family. Before being in Awolnation, Zach was and still is in a band called Irontom that opened for them last summer on tour, and will open for them this summer as well. Singer Aaron Bruno of Awolnation is helping produce Irontoms next record

Well.. no awolnation for me guys. After driving 15 hours from New Orleans to Detroit, a bunch of dates were canceled. One being the Michigan date we were supposed to see. Fml.

The group posted a statement on Thursday, June 16, announcing that it was scrapping its entire tour, reading:

“We have a big update to share with you about our upcoming tour. After some sleepless nights and heavy contemplation, we’ve had to make some insanely hard decisions to cancel a portion of our upcoming tour dates.

“The silver lining is that you’ll still have the chance to come dance with us soon - we will have a BIG announcement coming VERY soon that we hope you will be excited about. Please stay tuned for that!

“Please accept our deepest apologies for these changes and know that we are forever grateful of you as our fans.

“As always, thank you for listening - We Are All AWOLNATION.”

I'm curious to what the hell is going on?

They're opening for Prophets of Rage.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Wow, cancelling a tour to open for Prophets of Rage? ... that couldn't feel that great. The pay cheque must be impressive.

    Attachment?

I was surprised that the crowd wasn't more into AWOL but I guess they were only interested in RAGE...

Third time seeing AWOL and they killed it as usual.

In depth article, I like it. I'm currently listening to all the links. Nice. I'm an AWOL fan but I've never seen them. Wasn't sure how the music would translate... Looks like I definitely need to see them live.

Just read it. Good review. I've seen them 3 times now and have thoroughly enjoyed them every time. I got to do the meet and greet with them last tour and the band couldn't have been nicer, they signed my EP even though a few members weren't a part of that. I talked to Aaron about the first time I saw them and he did a flip into the crowd during their first song. He then told me that he had a concussion from that. When the crowd threw him back on stage he missed the stage and slammed his head hard. The rest of the band was interested in the story too, lol.

I did ask how the drop on Run would transform live and the keyboardist Kennys eyes lit up and said "you'll enjoy it, you'll be pleasantly surprised!" Well I was very happy with how it turned out live.

Great shows. See them if you have the opportunity!
