I really love what they've done with it. I first heard the new arrangement at ACL 2014, although tonight's sounded slightly different. Other than the jackass next to me who wouldn't shut the fuck up and was literally on me and yelling nonsense in my ear, what an awesome show!:clap:

It was GREAT! Wish I had known you were in town. Would have said hi. :)

I don't think they need to working in any more EV solo material into Pearl Jam shows. Setting Forth every now and then was cool because Matt requested it, but they certainly didn't need Sleeping By Myself on Lightning Bolt and certainly didn't need to play Without You tonight. Glad they crossed it out

Excellent crowd, great show. In the moonlight killed the energy in the room. Evenflow and jeremy sounded fresh not old and tired. Once to open was stellar. I liked how we had opening tracks as the first few songs. Picture in a frame was classic.
Good solid show. It is very evident that the band loves playing live and will continue to do so for many years.

I'd put it in top 5 of Philly area shows. Held its own with Spectrum '09 3, 4, Wells Fargo '05, and Spectrum '03, and a few of them are all-timers. First set with some interesting stuff, and kind of kept you off guard a little. Great 1st encore with Picture In a Frame, Oceans (1st one in Philly since early 90's), and Crown of Thorns. Not many weak spots in the set. I feel like anytime you get Crown it's going to be in the discussion for top shows you've seen live. Good energy from band. Was in club box level so hard to get feel for crowd energy but overall pretty good and seemed to build nicely as show went on. Liked the LBC intro. Once interesting, different opener. Kind of went hard first few songs. Set closers Porch, RVM, and Indifference all very solid. Agree In the Moonlight relatively dead. As someone who's been to every Philly area show since '98 nice to get a few bust outs like Oceans, Moonlight, Picture in a Frame, Education that haven't been played here. 7 songs off Ten. Most of the newer songs like Unthought Known and Lighting Bolt hold up very well live. I feel like this is a show that'll grow on me more the more I listen to it.

This is just my second show but I was blown away by the set and the energy the band played with. They didn't seem to let up from start to finish. Lots of great moments that have already been mentioned above. It was my son's first show and he had a great time. I'd like to second MusicDude415's sentiment, we were in Section 105 Row 6 and everybody around us was great. Thanks to Ten Club for the great seats.

I have seen many shows and this was a great set list but I was very disappointed by the philly crowd. They are usually much better. I hope tomorrow is a better crowd.

Crowd was great where I was in 109. Loudest I'd ever heard at a show actually.

Agreed w most everything I've read above... It COULD totally be my imagination, but I thought I heard/saw Ed mutter something at the end of In the Moonlight to the tune of "let's scratch that one." Prob a good idea as it seemed to be the only energy kill in an otherwise phenomenal show!

Crowd was absolutely deafening. Holy shit. Scared to see how amazing tmrw will be. Vitalogy??? We shall see.
  • So glad to see PJ in Philly again! Many of my favorites were played, including Wishlist, Unthought Known, Picture in A Frame, and a fantastic RVM, which is probably my favorite song to hear live. :)
    "A beacon on dry land"
  • I was in the GA section on the rail by Stone, it was actually three guys screaming Dirty Frank, They screamed it most of the first set. Ed seemed kinda annoyed with them, but it was a great show! Up there with Philly night 1 in 2013 that's for sure. It was a really fast paced set. Not really a slow moment besides Picture In a Frame (which was a nice touch I never thought I'd here that live). I dont know what was going on with Stones guitars. It seemed like the tech kept giving him the wrong guitar or something for just about every song in the first encore

Highlights for me were Once (great opening, I thought maybe just maybe for a split second they may do Ten front to back), All Night, Love Boat Captain, In My Tree, Picture in a Frame, Oceans, Chole Dancer/Crown of Thorns, and Fuckin Up.

Kinda interested to see what they do tomorrow since there was no Vitalogy or Binaural tonight.

Crowd was loud and consistent, not climbing the walls crazy though. Set list felt original and I have been to 17 or so shows. Not super rare, but different enough, and definitely high energy. Had a great time sitting next to and talking to stevebarnabe and his wife in 118 row 20 . I searched for you on this site but could not find your handle. Maybe I will see you guys tomorrow. Also saw in another thread where I was trying to sell my extra tickets for tonight, someone had a 13th birthday and was a few rows in front of me in section 118 behind the stage. Looks like you caught a tamborine. Some of us behind you were pointing towards you and your sign hoping it would get to you. That is all, bed time......oh wait. I ended up giving away my extra tickets tonight to my dad and a good friend of me and my brother. Thank you all who passed on my $70 tickets that I posted for on 3 different threads two days ago for 216A. If you did not go, you missed out on an excellent show and the guy who drove up from Maryland on short notice for a free ticket thanks you. Thhpppppppppppt!

gonna be brutally honest. im pretty sure that was show 48 for me. never been to philly proper, but camden many times. having been going to shows for 20 years, i saw this tour and i was like, the set needs to evolve. Oh, it has... Great show tonight. Songs are so well placed. Lowlight one of best versions ive ever heard. Fuckin' up for me was a highlight. Unthought Known is so underrated, and Lightning Bolt holds its own. The show started off at a ten (ha) with once. MYM is a song i like, but they pushed it in there, couldve served better later in the set. Crowd was great! I was in club 16, and surrounded by awesome people, giving high fives and hugs. Ed sounds great, amazing how he just doesnt quit/age. But, its not just Ed, Pearl Jam relies on all, and they are all on point. Its just a treat to see. In my Tree tonight was cool, one of my faves... but I guess if I have to pick one highlight ( i know for many, picture in a frame is making them bananas, and yeah it was great, so aside from that for the die hard fans) crazy mary was sick, along with other tour debut songs. ONTO NIGHT 2! UBER SUCKS, FAILED MISERABLY, BUT I LOVE PJ SO ILL WALK!
