was listening to this show for the first time today on PJ radio. before smile Ed says that Jeff and Stone are going to switch instruments for two songs...so did they play each others axes on Off He Goes as well?
was lucky to see them do it with Smile in London, Ont.
    It's a hopeless... situation
    And I'm starting to believe

Yeah I was wondering this too. How long did they switch for? Anybody know?? Because Ed says they will switch for the rest of the show. But that could be a joke.

Was a joke... They only switched instruments for "Smile"... the norm.

I hope 10C leaves the Moline full concert video up. All the stars were aligned that night, and for me ... the show was nearly flawless.

They are aware these are posted and have never asked us to remove them. They have been very kind and generous about it. There are probably 15-20 shows in this style. I like to think that it's good or at least neutral for the band. It allows fans to remember what a great show it was and shows new fans/passive fans how great they are and keep the interest in the band strong. There have been about 700k views of the shows from BTN.

Gettin that itch man.....need a live fix.

Hey man, were you directly to the side of the stage, Stone side, about three rows back? The guy next to me was with his daughter, she was on the railing. Good people to stand next to for a show, just wondering if that was you?

Question about this show - anyone know what was the deal with the false start at the beginning of Mankind?
  • 3days3days Posts: 1,151
Had something to do with Mike not being ready I think. Stone and Ed were both looking over in Mike's direction.

^^Mike's guitar was in the wrong tuning and he had to switch up.

I know how you feel, last minute work decision made it possible(along with St Paul and Milwaukee) and it was an unbelievable way to start off my 4 show run. The smile that comes over me every time I think of this show tells me how special it was almost daily.

If they take it down, use this version on YouTube. This guy takes fan footage and then lays on top of it the official bootleg audio. It's very slick.

I love that people are still commenting on this unbelievable show. I have a little brother that was born when I was 13. He was my little sidekick growing up and he was in my car driving around listening to PJ since he was 3. I finally got to take him to his first show, and it was this one. We still talk about how lucky he is to have been to the show "where they played 'No Code' live." Of our 3 sisters, I know I'm his favorite.

  • Heard mixed reviews for the Colbert show, but almost all thought the band was great. A few friends trash talked Letterman's replacement, and said he compromised the vocals on RITFW and should've left it to the pros. Yeah, he's not as good as Ed (not a Vedder girl, just worship the music), but Colbert made it interesting and not the average late night fare. The way I feel is...dont fucking judge. If his show can help bring people to the music and do what PJ did for me the last few years (in my forties) when I finally delved further into their library, then I say what the hell. Theres a lot of people who only knew ten and vs. back in the day (like me), and they should get all of it.

Posted here, because Moline is my only show so far, and the only forum I go on. Hope there's more North America dates, so I can see them again
  • Wow almost a year. Where did the time go? Such a great show.

I agree! I thought it was great Colbert joined them on stage!
It's rock n roll people, let's not take this shit too seriously. The band was having fun with it and it sounded ok in my living room :)
  • Can't believe it's been a year (plus a few days) since no code in Moline. During the show, Eddie said the band would return. Hope they play the I-Wireless Center again. It was such an intimate venue...best show ever!!

One of my buddies just texted me that this morning. Can't believe it has been 2 years already! Prob in my top 2-3 of 21 shows I've been to. Still can't believe they played in that tiny ass arena in Moline....and played fucking No Code!
