    Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Bummed that the Union Square theatre is sold out but I will happily watch it elsewhere. It's Doctor Who in the movie theatre!! In 3D!!!

    :ugeek:

Lots of showings near me. One of the times at the theater closest to me already sold out so the 7:30 will be playing in 2 screens. :ugeek: I'll be there!

That's fucking bull shit, what's the big deal? Check out google.com today though! Pretty sweet. I'm dressing up in my tweed jacket and bow tie and sitting with my Dalek and Tardis pillows on the couch today to watch The Day of the Doctor. CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!!!

Did anyone watch An Adventure in Space and Time? I missed it but I've been hearing some pretty great reviews.

That was pure awesomeness!!! Watching the 3 of them interact with no plot what so ever would have been good enough for me. Also there seemed to have been a lack of Moffat plot holes that there usually seems to be with his stories. I give that an A+ for sure.

Did you get "no more war" playing in your head during this episode? Cuz I sure did! :-D

There are many Doctors, but this is the O.G. in my opinion ...

you must've flipped last night then

Tonight they're doing the 11th doctor revisited on bbc america. I'm actually surprised they didn't air it before the special.

Just remembering the old days when there were only 5 channels and watching the Doctor after SNL on Saturday nights. If I was lucky an episode of Red Dwarf would come on before Stargazer Jack Horkheimer gave his tips and PBS would sign off for the night.

Normally I can't get into any of the old episodes, but from time to time (see what I did there) a 4th doctor or sometimes even 5th doctor story can hit the spot.

I wish we could get in a Tardis and bring a young Tom Baker to play the Doctor in the modern series. I think his style would fit the new series even more than it did the old one.

So I got to see the show in 3D in the movie theatre yesterday. It was fun to see some people dressed up! It was 30 degrees here in NYC and I didn't get there early enough to see anyone lined up or anything before entering the theater, but I could still see some fezes and Tom Baker scarves and a few people dressed up as the Doctor. The girl next to me had a fantastic Tardis bodice. And a couple sonic screwdrivers tried to speed up the trivia slides that took the place of previews! I think it's the closest I've ever been to a 'con' :lol:8-)

There is a cute intro from Strax instructing the audience how to behave during the movie.
There is a 2nd cute intro from both Matt Smith and David Tennant in character introducing the movie.

The 3D wasn't all that impressive IMHO but I'm not the biggest fan of 3D in general. It was great to watch on the big screen. This is was the 3rd time I've seen in and I'm still catching things I missed.

There was a "featurette" at the end that was some behind the scenes stuff narrated by Colin Baker. It was funny and enjoyable.

I want to know what happened to the Zygons.

Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I hope those videos make their way to the internet soon ;)

the episode completely exceeded my expectations, I lost count how many times I said "holy shit!" out loud. not gonna lie, I may have teared up at the end...I am a dork.

Would have been nice for a Captain Jack cameo though...oh well. can't have everything!

They did give a nice nod to him with the vortex manipulator, though.

So the special was only shown for one night on 660 screen in the US but it made $4.8 million. That is nuts.

Just started watching and I've got the first dozen or so episodes of the recent run on my dvr. Do I need to watch them in order or is each episode kinda it's own thing with no running plot line?

Can't believe it's so close. I think I'll binge the 2md half of the 7th season over the next couple days. Since I won't be home during the day time on Saturday when BBCA will likely be marathon-ing. I can't sit through 'The Angels Take Manhattan' again anyway.

Edit: correction, BBCA is having a Doctor Who WEEK. in other words, nothing is getting done this week.

Peter Capaldi is riding a horse while wearing a nightie.

I loved it too. I watched the pre and post shows on BBC America too. I had no idea Alton Brown (or whatever his name is) is a who fan.

I actually loved Capaldi straight off the bat. I refused to watch the rest of Matt Smith's first season after the first episode or two until just before the next season started. I hated him. But then I got over it. That's what I was expecting with Capaldi but I loved him.

Been really liking the season so far. Lots of balance between the episodes.

Into the Dalek was probably the best Dalek episode since the 9th doctors time, lots of deep elements about the doctor.

Robot of Sherwood was extremely funny, laughed my ass off several times.

I think I got myself a little to excited for Listen, I kept hearing it was on the level of blink and the empty child. If I hadn't had those expectations I probably would have liked it more.

Time heist was a nice combo of fun and classic bank heist. Was also really cool to have a "timey whimey" episode that I didn't have to re watch twice to realize exactly what happened.

Can't wait for the rest, looking foward to the whole heaven thing of coarse.
  • I really like the new Doctor. I want a Doctor who is not afraid to kid A and take names. I hoping that this may be the one. Also, Clara has finally grown on me. I wasn't digging her and Smith's chemistry.
    Hearts and thoughts they fade....
    fade away...

I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.
