Milton Keynes...

...I got tickets. Planning to fly into Heathrow on Monday, show on Friday. Google maps says there is a train from London to Milton Keynes (30-45 mins?). Before I do a lot of Googling...British Ten Club members, is this feasible? Can I get there? Can I get back to London after the show? Or do I need to plan a trip to Milton Keynes after I get to London?

Thanks from your oh so American Ten Club brother!

Jon

    Hey mate

Trains from London Euston to MK are pretty regular, even late at night (within reason) ... I use this site to book tickets over here - http://www.thetrainline.com/Train-Times ... es-central - check it out and see what you think.

    Safe travels!

Prepare to pay stupid money for using the trains in the UK. But apart from that, enjoy your time over here and the show! :)

  • If you use the Trainline website mentioned earlier or the National Rail website you can find very cheap train tickets if you book well in advance. Train prices are available three months before your date of travel.

So it looks like it's possible to actually stay in London and take the train back from MK after the show? Since the train schedules ain't available for July yet I looked at a Friday in May and it seems like the last train back is 1230am-ish.
Seeing as how I didn't book a room early on and now every single hotel within walking distance is sold out (or $400usd/night) I'm looking for alternative places to stay. Driving unfortunately isn't an option. Are there no special shuttle busses or whatever from the venue? Any advice at all appreciated.

I got a nice room near Euston Station for about $100GBP/night. I'm secretly hoping they add extra trains to London for that night the way most places add extra trains for events because if it is indeed the closing show for the tour and since it's such a big venue, you kind of know it's going to be a late one.

think the curfew due to the venues location is 10.30pm - its a midweek show

This site will show you when tickets become available http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/ticket_types/44703.aspx

The train companies in question are Virgin Trains http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/ and London Midland http://www.londonmidland.com/ (I find booking through the train operator is the same price if not cheaper than the trainline)

London Midland I know laid on extra trains in 2011 when there were gigs on at the Bowl so may do the same this year but as others said as it is an outdoor venue the curfew is early.

There are also coaches which can be booked now

    Count me in! ;)

I'm planning to return back to Portsmouth the same day (July 11th or 12th early in the morning). But first, we need to know approximately what time they're going to end the show. Maybe we should contact Ten Club or the venue to be sure.
