Anyone think PJ will ask Pussy Riot to open for them on the Euro tour since they were visibly supportive of them?

I hope not. Hopefully at most shows they won't have any support and it'll just be "An Evening With Pearl Jam".

Pussy Riot wouldn't do the shows. It's nothing against Pearl Jam, but it is contrary to what they stand for.

I think it would be a very kind gesture by PJ and I think PR would have a hard time turning this down.

Pussy Riot has gotten offers from many of the worlds top acts and has turned them down. Thats not how they roll and against what they stand for. Sure it would be a great move for Pearl Jam, but thats not the point here.

Right but holding true to one's ideals does no good if nobody knows about what you are fighting for. What better audience then 15k people a night throughout this tour?

A little something to help you understand what Pussy Riot stands for:

"We're flattered, of course, that Madonna and Bjork have offered to perform with us," said Orange. "But the only performances we'll participate in are illegal ones. We refuse to perform as part of the capitalist system, at concerts where they sell tickets."

Well there you go. Maybe their time in prison might change their views? As we get older we see things differently.

This is a weird thread for negative vibes. I'm happy to know Pussy Riot is free to play be it with Pearl Jam or otherwise. In fact, I'm just flat out glad to know they're free... period.

  • People need to read up on Pussy Riot rather than to make ignorant comments about a band that is strictly an activist punk band.

I know I'm thankful that the girls are now free.
  • the music sucks. they were only cool in America because you could get a t shirt that said FREE PUSSY on it. I personally think it is insane that they were imprisoned and i am glad they are free (after serving almost their entire sentence anyway) but if we as a community can't stand opening acts like Mudhoney why the hell would we want a band screaming about Putin to open the show?
i hope they continue to do their thing though so that i have excuses to where my tshirt 8-)
