Never saw them and the PJ one looks hysterical. Plus I am 99% sure that wouldn't have been their 999th show. I'd probably buy it for $20 though :D

$20 bucks, sure i'll buy one. A bootleg copy for over $100 bucks? Just imagine if they released a Benny Hall vinyl box set for $100 bucks, a bootleg. Think that would sell out fast?

Honestly...given all the bootlegs from other artists (The Killers come to mind first) There are soo many different bootlegs of Hot Fuss and they are damn good quality too. It always made me wonder why some company or person didn't just bootleg Benny. Seems like a slam dunk for me since I would without a doubt buy one at a reasonable price. Idc if it's a bootleg or not.

  • Anyone here pull the trigger on either one of these and if so what's the sound quality?
  • If the source of the vinyl is not from the master board/tapes, you might as well have the CD.
    Pretty Boxers!
I hope this helps you on you search for the real music!

If it's sourced from the flac files there's a good chance it'll be as good as anything Pearl Jam has ever put out on vinyl sound quality wise.

Is it because most of these are overseas (non-US) releases, that they are allowed to do this?

don't get me wrong, I happily bought the '98 Melbourne vinyl & it sounds GREAT!

Hmm I thought a few moths back someone on the boards said it would take a few years to get to 1000. I could be wrong though, I just thought there would be some chatter when it happened. I could've just missed it though.

They could make some pretty sweet pressings from the 2012 boots. I think that was the first tour that PJ release high def flac files for. That's a pretty quality source to press to vinyl (if you were in the business of bootlegging?)

As far as I see, this has been discussed to some extent and yes, there have been some wrong comments about it.

The show after the Berlin 2 is Stockholm, 2012 show; it is the 1000th show of the band.

pj stat tracker has 897 shows through 2012....so that means santiago, chile 2013 was show 900. I think ed screwed up his math.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
  • jumbojetjumbojet Posts: 1,484
Yes, even the tour counts from this site falls short of 900, as of end of 2012.
I dont know what made him say that. If my memory serves correct; in Prague show, there was also mentioning of approaching 1000th show. I dont have stockholm bootleg so I dont know if this thing came up there or not.

Curious how this sounds? Just found it again on Discogs for $150.0. Anyone have any info on actual vinyl/audio quality? Photos? It says blue wax, I've also read reports on 2 diff color vinyls.

    Thanks

The Mad Season vinyl is available at Discogs for a fairly cheap price although shipping might inflate the cost.

The sound quality is pretty damn good on the Berlin vinyl although I question the value if the going price is $150. I feel I paid a lot for it but it was less than half that.

That cover is a thing of beauty. So ugly that I think I must have it in my collection
