What do you guys think the opening act will be this tour? My friend says the gas light anthem, I'd personally like to see Alabama Shakes or Mayb KOL cause the band can mayb help them get their ish together. Any thoughts?

I'd LOVE to see M.M.J. do "a quick one (while he's away)" with Eddie.

    Love it.
  • I hope there is no opening act and its just an evening with......

Do we really still need an opening act?

    Would be fine by me!

If not, I'd love Gaslight to open for them.

Two acts for the price of one sounds better value for money to me, unless PJ play longer without an opening act? Either way the tour is going to be awesome and whomever gets to go I hope you have a wonderful time!

Would want Tegan And Sara, Kings of Leon (too big now I guess), Millencolin or MMJ.

There has been no "opening act to be revealed later" or anything, but I think there will be an opening band.

    My guess:

    Gaslight Anthem or The Hives.

No opener in London, and PJ came on at, like, 8 or something. They basically started at the time the opener would have started...

Yep, I'm hoping QOTSA or NIN replace Pearl Jam at some point during the tour. Wouldn't want to see the same band 23 times. ;)

I'd like to see an opener. I may never have found MMJ, KOL, Band of Horses, amond others if I had not hear them open. Hopefully they choose a different opener than they have had in the past. I have seen Mudhoney enough times now.

Oh believe me... you would have found KOL w/o PJ... all you had to do was wait a few months for the radio stations to start forcing every other track from "Only By the Night" down our throats!

They could show some Seattle love. The reformed AIC is touring now but that would be awesome. I'm sure Candlebox is free....anyone??? It may also be interesting to see the reformed STP w/ Chester Bennington.

An evening with would be best

The best kind of opener for me isn't a quasi double bill including a band that may have had a hit or two at some point. I like a band that sets a good mood for the night. Remember Ben Harper in 98? Perfect opener in my opinion.

Please no re-formed grunge-era bands with new lead singers.

A new, up-and-coming band would be great. Think of the 2010 tour with Band of Horses and Black Keys, excellent choices.

For 2013, Local Natives would be my first choice, or something different like Delicate Steve. If they want to go in a punk direction, FIDLAR would be pretty cool.

    They should choose Kyng.

    Eddie and Eddie.
Finally someone besides Cornell that could handle Hunger Strike.

KoL and MMJ are too big now but that would be awesome. Gaslight Anthem would be perfect, they're so great. Gary Clark Jr. would be insane too

The Local Natives would be fantastic. They have a tour through these dates though. Ben Harper has nothing after September. The Frames would be cool. Kings of Leon has nothing on these dates, but they have some dates before and after shows that would require them to do a lot of traveling in a short amount of time. Band of Horses also has nothing planned. I just hope they have one.

Rose Windows is a really good up and coming band from Seattle. They have an album out on Sub Pop.

I hope there is one, too. There is always the potential for Ed to come out during the set as well. Some of my favorite moments have been "It Makes No Difference" with MMJ and "Act Together" with BOH..two of my favorite songs by The Band and Ron Wood, respectively. And Watch It Die with Bad Religion of course.

I'd go with The Hold Steady, especially at Barclays. Brooklyn band for the Brooklyn shows.
