Hate to rain on the parade and not to sound cynical, but I just don't see PJ playing there more than once. Just not their kind of thing/cup of tea/bailiwick/wheelhouse...what have you. I would love to be wrong and the more the merrier, but it just wouldn't be "them" to play more than one show there this year.

I heard back in October PJ was trying to book two shows at wrigley. I took it with a grain of salt as the source was pretty unreliable. When they announced the show I was shocked that he was partially right.

I remember reading somewhere on the forum about chicago's strict rules about how many concerts they are allowed at wrigley. I had to laugh because when they want something in chicago to happen they just change the rules!

I am not saying there will be a second PJ show. But i sure would not be surprised if there is.

Just don't see PJ playing there more than once this year. No concrete or objective information you are looking for -very subjective, I just don't think they are the type of band to take their first time playing there after having a big announcement for the first show and then announce 1 or 2 more shows at later dates. Is it possible? Absolutely. Would it be great? Absolutely. Is it likely? I just don't think so. :)

Afterall, this is a band who has lived by "OTOTO" right?

Whether or not PJ is "that kind of band" or not, I'd have to think that if the Ricketts have gotten permission to have two more shows at Wrigley, they'd want at least one of them to be a PJ show, considering how quickly the first one sold out.

Here's the link to an article that mentions it...

    http://www.suntimes.com/news/cityhall/18699421-418/ald-tom-tunney-digs-in-against-more-signs-night-games-at-wrigley.html

EDIT.....article says nothing about a Thursday concert.

Thing is, it specifically says Thursday. How man other Thursdays could it even be feasible to have a concert since supposedly they need 7 to 10 days for the grass. Also, IF there is a show that takes place on the 18th, you gotta think they wouldn't squeeze a completely different band, no?

Guess we'll see. If nothing else, it's something to obsess over.

I believe the Thursday in the article is referring to when the ruling happened. As in today is Friday and the ruling happened yesterday on Thursday.

Also, the article makes no reference as to when those shows would be. They could be in 2014 for all we know.

This band is all about announcing shows randomly these days and the more they can combine into a shorter window the better (if we play Atlanta Midtown we should play the Florida festival; play Missoula we need to add the San Fran show; etc...). I think they would do a second show if it could work.

I think the Midtown/DeLuna fest shows had more to do with the fact that the Foo's touring manager started DeLuna Fest. So two smaller festivals got to land two major acts by switching headliners over the weekend.

The DeLuna Fest lost lots of money as the crowd was relatively small. Rumor has it the headliners might not have gotten paid or at least not paid the full amount. :(

Great show by PJ and the Foo's.
