Any suggestions on record stores in the Chicago? My favorite store just closed and with the amount of stores closing in the past couple of years its making it harder to find any good stores still open. Thanks for your help.

Used to go to Cyklopx in Forrest Park, but they have been bought out by another store i guess. I have always had good luck finding good vinyl at good prices there.

Shit guys, this sucks. I feel the new vinyl was a great idea, but they just overprice it. I remember seeing Appetite for Destruction's remastered vinyl for like 30 bucks at Best Buy. We can get used of that album soooo much cheaper. Granted I've never seen it used in a store but that album has been out so long I've seen ebay listings fairly cheaper than that. Dammit all.

Permanent records is fantastic for Indie
Dusty Groove is great for World, jazz, funk and Hip hop.
    Groovin High is never open
Dave's has the best selection of albums in great condition.
Jazz Record Mart is a Jazz mecca

Lauries Planet of Sound and any of the 3 Reckless stores are the best stores in the city.

I believe those were suggestions, not stores that closed.

If people are going to Wrigley, but a Saturday pass for Pitchfork. Big record show there over the weekend.
