Just watched a movie called the Ghost Maker. Good premise, an ok story. Smaller budget limits it but worth a look.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

  • The only horror movie ive watch numerous times is Night of The Living Dead. I really like horror literature but when it comes to movies it seems so disposable to me. Watch it once and there is few reasons to watch it again, must of them work the first time on some level of shock, once thats gone there isnt much underneath. There are quite a few good ones, just i wouldnt call them favorites cause i will probably never watch them again.

Just watched Silent Night. A sort of remake of Silent Night Deadly Night.
Pretty good slasher flick for the X-Mas holidays.

The original or the remake? The original is a very good film, the remake...not so much.

original from 1974 (I didn't even knew there was a remake of it), but they rarely show remakes anyway.

Nice. It's very well done imo. One of the first movies of its kind and influential to many movies that followed.
I'm sure you will enjoy it.

In no particular order, sorry can't limit to 3! :D

    IT
    The Ring (original)
    The Grudge (original)
    Amityville Horror
    Woman in Black
    Pet Cemetary
    Bram Stokers Dracula
    Dead Birds
Tales From the Darkside (I loved this when I was little, probably pretty corny now though)
    Carrie
    The Omen

I prefer eerie or ghosty scary over gruesome.

yeah it was pretty well done, I liked it. Not bad for a horror film in the 70's.

This January is not really a horror film per say, well I guess it can be considered one. Anyway they are showing both Grindhouse movies in their entirity.

February is Candyman (which I don't believe I have seen  )

anyone see "Mama" yet? I'm tempted to go and see it but the horror films in the past ten years or so have kinda sucked. Hearing decent reviews on this though.

Tonight they played Candyman in 35mm print  Pretty decent. Couple "jumping" scenes. Actually the one girl behind me jumped like 10 times  The urban legend was kinda cool, and his gimmick was ok.

  • I really like the found footage genre. None of them scare me, but they keep my interest and can get suspenseful.

My top 5 found footage horror movies are:

    1. Grave Encounters
    2. Quarantine
    3. Paranormal Entity
    4. Paranormal Activity
    5. The Devil Inside

The Sequel is out?!!! I thought they were making it still, but then again I have not been keeping track for a long time now.

I'll still watch it. Just to see how they did.

It both poked fun of movies and praised some of its great characters at the same time.

    AMC to add more 'Horror':

“The Terror” series will be an adaptation of the 2007 bestselling novel by Dan Simmons. I haven’t read the book, but the synopsis piques my interest. It’s “is set in 1847 when the crew of a Royal Naval expedition to find the Arctic’s treacherous Northwest Passage discovers instead a monstrous predator – a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, the consequences of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.”

It’s being written by David Kajganich, who is also adapting the feature film version of The Stand for Warner Bros. he will executive produce along with Ridley (and formerly Tony) Scott’s Scott Free TV, Television 360, and Alexandra Milchan.

No air date has been set, and that probably won’t change for quite a while.
