If you go to the Hancock and up to the Sig room...go into the bathroom. Not sure if the men's has it but the best view the city is from that ladies bathroom.

Here is a great site for finding out things to do in the city. http://www.choosechicago.com My personal favorites are:
Lou Malnati's Pizza - best thin crust and sauce. Period. Miller's Pub on Wabash - Don't let the old school atmosphere throw you off. Great food and kitchen is open until 4 AM. Favorite late night after bar place to eat as long as you aren't completely trashed. Chicago Greeter - www.chicagogreeter.com - You contact them ahead of time and let them know what you're into and they hook you up with a free local tour guide. Seriously. Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier - It's tall and gives you a great view of the city. Tall Ship Windy - Spend the afternoon sailing on the lake aboard a schooner or go on Saturday night and watch the Navy Pier fireworks from the lake. The view of the city at night from the lake is breathtaking! Art Institute (I am an artist so I of course love it, but it is one of the best in the country and I have visited just about every major art museum in the U.S.) Chicago Summer Dance - Free dance lessons followed by dancing and outdoor concert right on Michigan Ave. Pritzker Auditorium - Inside Millennium Park and they have great free shows in the summer.
The bar at the John Hancock, have a drink and see an amazing view of the city.
It is really hard not to have a great time in Chicago so have fun!

Attn: sports fans - For those coming from the east you could make a pit stop in Indiana. Just off I80 in South Bend is the campus of Notre Dame. You can see the Golden Dome from I80. A quick two hour detour would allow a nice stroll through campus and you could see ND stadium. Just a short drive from there to Michigan City or New Buffalo, there are a couple nice casinos with attached hotels. Highly recommend Shoreline Brewery in Michigan City and Redamak's in New Buffalo. From there it's about an hour and a half to Wrigley and you drive right past Soldier Field. A trip where you easily get to see 3 of the most prized stadiums for their sports.

The Art Institute of Chicago - loved it here. One highlight was seeing the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood.
Willis Tower - I loved the glass balconies. There was no shortage of people having moronic photos taken though.
Cloud Gate (The Bean) - I was excited about seeing this and wasn't disappointed . It is also a good place to practice taking photos (if that is something you enjoy doing when travelling).
I also went to Shedd Aquarium to see the beluga whales.
I went to the Field Museum too, but found it was more suited to young kids. They do have the most complete skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex found to date, if you're interested in seeing something like that.
For somewhere to eat breakfast, if you want a meal so large that you won't be able to finish it, go to the Wildberry Cafe near Millennium Park http://www.wildberrycafe.com/chicago.html .
