  • You don't really think Barack is the last President Obama do you?

(honestly... if you had to sit next to a man who said the horrible things about your husband that John Boner has said about Michelle's husband, would you give a shit what he had to say?"

There is a reason I blocked you. I remember just now.
    NEVER mind.
"Mother, should I run for president ?"

Someone who has odd interests, and is often silly at times. A dork is also someone who can be themselves and not care what anyone thinks.

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=dork

But it's been a nickname of mine for a long time. Back at a studio I worked for in the mid-00s, one of the model scouts forgot my name and - I'm guessing because I wear black and listen to mostly harder-edged music - called me "the Prince of Darkness."

And while I can't remember how it morphed into Dorkness (I think it was my idea, honestly) and it's become a sort of calling card.

All this time I thought it was a kind of water fowl.

if i were michelle i would have refused to sit next to boehner.

    fuck that guy.

he has blocked obama's agenda at every turn, yet blames obama for not accomplishing what he said he would :fp:

boehner said that jobs was going to be the number 1 priority of the last congress...how many jobs bills that that asshole allowed to be brought to the house floor again?? ZERO.

the funny thing to me is the only job boehner has created the last 4 years was getting obama a second term.:lol:

So is Barrack leaning back and saying: "You know it's a weave?" And Michelle is reacting to it?

I think she is for some, absolutely. For others like me, not so much. I just can't relate to her.

    Anyway, being lauded for a two-second eye-roll?

    Seems...childish.

    O-ho! Look at that!

    C'mon already.

I would love to see some DC shit resolved, but it's not gonna happen with some of the mindsets out there.

I was somewhat thinking the same thing, how un-First Lady like. But then my thoughts reverted to my previous replies.

Yep, when the headline on most media outlets for days is her new hairdo it's clear that most reporting is irrelevant.

I was amazed at how many media outlets and onlookers gathered yesterday to check out her new bangs.

AHH! This supports my crazy theory of government. (Don't worry, it'll never happen.)

    My theory of government:

As we do now, we have executive, judicial, and legislative branches of the government PLUS we have royalty.

The legislative members are elected by the public.
The judicial branch is elected by the legislative.
The executive branch is comprised of a committee /commission (similar to the presidential committee and commission) of people elected by the legislative- no president.
The King and Queen are elected by the people and have no real power- they just look good and play a cultural role in representing the people.

Why a president? One person to make such big decisions? Why not just a good looking King and Queen and leave the leadership roles as outlined above? I've always thought this made sense but so far I'm a team of one.

Plus with the President actually acting like a King naming him one is nothing but a mere formality.

    Howdy, lone team player

My view of goodlooking is probably different from others - not based solely on the physical, plus I have twisted tastes - but having those roles filled for the sole purpose of image (if I read that correctly)?

    Nuh UH!

Give me substance over style any day.
  • Ugh.

Ok... so honestly... I don't ACTUALLY think she was rolling her eyes at him. She's been in the public eye for years, the first black first lady in history... her every move and gesture is dissected and interpreted by the media. She has managed to make it thus far without being called out on anything other than the time Fox "news" asked if a fist-bump was a "terrorist fist jab."

I really doubt that she would sit at the inauguration dinner next to John Boehner and give him some shade. She was probably reacting to something totally different.

    I just think it's funny.

(and I honestly haven't been able to figure out how anyone could dislike someone who has two law degrees from Princeton and Harvard (only three first ladies have had those, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton) and then gave up a very promising career as a lawyer so she could be a mother.

And her main issue is trying to help children learn about healthy eating. I mean... she's my mom.

I always figured she was like Laura Bush... even if you were against her husband's policies... it was hard to find anything to dislike about her.

I'm with you on that one. A heck, I thought Joey Ramone was good looking in his own weird way.

Note to self- stop posting before you're fully awake. You leave stuff out.

Your right, Hedonist. By good "looking" I meant in a much larger sense. Those roles would not be based on physical looks alone. They would need to be filled with people who represent the best of who we are. They would need some kind of creative talent, be it poet, musician, artist etc. They would need to be generous and kind. They would need a good sense of humor and be insightful and intelligent. They might be a great craftsman or inventor or a Mother Teresa.

Hedonist-- I think you've just been nominated. We just need a few more candidates and set an election date. :D

This is really kind of you to say, sir...thanks :) Although, on a much MUCH smaller scale, I've previously been asked to be on our condo's board - and again, nuh UH! Daily life can be stressful enough, which I'm sure you get. Fuck knows I don't need more drama, especially the fabricated or backtracking kind...which is sort of what politics, unfortunately these days and all over the place!, have come to represent to me.

(ps...with ya on Joey. I love weird, in all - OK, in most - forms  )
