    Nice video. Song is great. But does Ed have to be in shadow? It's like he's the parody of the reclusive rock star.

    "I'll do the video but I must be darkly lit and mysterious looking."

    I also didn't like the silhouette of Ed in the top right corner of the screen at the end of the video. Emile Hirsch on the roof of the bus is an iconic shot and the silhouette of Ed in that frame is just wrong.

    Indeed - except instead of confusion over whether the kid shot himself or his classmates, now it's confusion over what the fuck they were trying to achieve with the silhouette.
    Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

    Me neither. I just watched it for the 1st time and I don't understand what the meaning is with that ending.

    The whole point of Ed in the movie is how he is the character's inner voice. So I see the silhouette as forming a connection between what Eddie is doing musically and Emile looking off into the difference with the backdrop of Ed as his conscience so to speak. I thought it was great.
