Riff-dependent Rock & Roll

I won't get started criticizing the Pitchfork review of Backspacer but one phrase stuck with me: riff-dependent. I never really thought about this as being a bad thing, but it got me thinking about riffs on this album and how it seems to be more of a song writing/ensemble album. The picture of them all hooked to the same brain being a very appropriate piece of the album's art work. However, that doesn't mean there isn't some juicy riffs in places. What are some of our favorite riff-dependent moments? Some of mine are:

Amongst the Waves: Stone's heavy-as-hell riff with Mike soloing over it. I think he dusted off the olde Les Paul for this one.

Force of Nature: The bridge where Ed sings "Makes me ache...". One of my favorite moments for me. A great simple guitar melody from Mike "Hired-Gun" McCready.

Johnny Guitar: The riff when Ed starts singing "First thirty years and more..." then it breaks into the math-funk breakdown. Makes me real glad Matt is in this band.
