I'm watching the X-Files on the Sci-Fi network right now. I just realized that they played them. I was in love with this show when I was younger. It came out when I was 11, and I think I watched ever single episode for like five years, then lost interest. But now I remember why I loved it so much.
Anyone else remember this great show?

yes!! i was obsessed with this show in high school. it came out when i was ten, and my parents wouldn't let me watch it for the first couple seasons. but when i finally saw it i was hooked! i even named my cat spooky (for mulder's nickname).

don't even get me started on the last x-files movie though...gah.

I agree about the movie, they had 5 years and that was the best x-file story they could come up with

Love the TV show, probably my favourite show ever

This was a great show, until Mulder left. I didn't care much for the last few seasons with Robert Patrick. I've watched my DVDs up through the Mulder era, I maye have to pop in the last couple of seasons and see if I can digest Agent Dogget now.

Was my favorite show for a long time. Loved the first movie, but was pretty disappointed in that last season. Too many things happened that contradicted earlier plot points. Too much stuff that didn't make sense. Too many loose ends. And then I didn't even see the 2nd movie. When I found it that it was stand-alone, monster-of-the-week, I was out. I will pick it up and check it out I guess but I am not enthusiastic about it. That is sad. I really loved that show.

yeah, i really don't watch the later seasons with dogget and raez....I think they should have called it quits earlier on.

I loved the series- but it started getting too weird, and it just fell off the favorites list. The first movie was better than the latest one.

So, if you were a big fan of the show, is the 2nd movie worth it? I can understand if a casual fan didn't like it but what about a big fan? Worth checking out or will I just be disappointed?

I think you'll be disappointed- I was. Its a movie that I would not have paid- what is it now $12.50 :o - to sit in the theater for.
Netflix- on a lazy day- maybe

If you were a big fan of the show then yes. The movie itself isn't as bad as most people say, it's just a bit slower at times and unrelated to any of the series' previous storylines (except Mulder + Scully).

I was very disappointed. And XZibit as a federal agent..... no thanks. I've seen better acting by trees. While mostly stand-alone, it did shed light on some plot items from the series. I was happy to see that, but overall, it was not a quality production.

I believe that had C.C. made the movie a few years back like he had wanted, it really could have been something. But the whole lawsuit with Fox just ruined any chances of that.

i got the box set for my birthday last year and seriously, every day after work i'd come home and watch 2 or 3 or 4 episodes from the beginning until it was done! it was so addicting and gave me something to look foward to haha, sad i know but it was such an awesome show, and there were a lot i didn't even remember.

so what were some of your favorite episodes? some of mine were the one called "home" about the inbreds, freaky, and i also liked the one i think it was called "triangle" where mulder went off to the bermuda triangle to get aboard the nazi ship, but what i liked about it was all the scenes were one continuous shot, very well made. god there were so many others i can't think of right now...
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"

At my job, they sell the passes for $8- I've been using those for the last few movies. But for this X-files movie- 12.50- and I was not happy

OMG! I never thought there were this many people who liked this show!
It was like a part of my childhood. I think I'm going to have to buy the DVDs and watch them all again.
The one I watched last night (I think?) was called "The One". It was a bout a kid who could read minds, and he was a chess prodigy (not because he was good, but because he knew what his opponents were thinking).
Anyone remember it? It was pretty good.

did anyone else loove when they threw in a random comedic ep? like small potatoes, or the guy who could see when people died. actually that one was more bittersweet, but still had some funny lines. or the one about the small town filled with vampires?

as for the second movie...SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

    Here they come....
I didnt like how it was more like an episode of law & order. where was the paranormal stuff?? so a guy's head had to be grafted on another body? ooohhh, i've got chills already! And the whole thing about stem cell research? and the pedophile priest? very timely christ carter, but this is supposed to be about the paranormal! gov conspiracys! hell, i'd even have settled for a cattle mutilation. ps, just loved when dr. scully googled "stem cell research" in order to find out more about it. doctors: they're just like us! and don't even get me started on xibit and the other chick..why were they there? you know what this movie couldv'e used? an appearance by the lone gunmen. oh yeah, they were killed off in the final season. thanks again, writers!!
deep breath.....rant over. sorry guys. :?

my wife & i are both big fans of the X-Files. we started buying the season used @ 1/2 Price Books whenever we saw them up for sale. (b/c they cost about $40 @ best buy!) anyway, we have seasons 1-5 and are watching them all the way through. i thought i was a big fan, but there are a lot of episodes that i either didn't see & can't remember watching. it's fun, though. we watch a couple of episodes a week & now we're almost done w/ season 3.

    half price books=good times!
    I LOVE MUSIC.
