Check it out, nothing is definite but it looks like they're close to getting a deal together.

  • I don't understand why all the Late Night shows are running reruns ?

They can't write their own jokes for a monologue ?

Or is it a Union deal where they are not allowed ?

I don't think the late night hosts write their own jokes. I've been watching reruns of Conando.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire

letterman, leno etc are writers.....they are also producers......they cross the line and they won't get any of their writers back after the strike....ellen has basically been blackballed for crossing the picket line and going to work

Most of the late night hosts are members of the Writers Guild, even if they don't necessarily write material every night. So they're striking too.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

I used to go to sleep after some giggles from watching Stewarts and/or Colbert. Now it's not the same, the 11 o'clock time for me, is not filled with many laughs.

I hope Stewart/Colbert come back soon. American politics is just not the same without them.

every talk show has a team of writers.....even if the hosts wanted to do the shows, there is no way they could write all of their own material.

During the last strike, David Letterman went back on the air before it ended, and resorted to all sorts of tomfoolery, such as making toast for the audience as a substitute for funny material!
