    his attitude
and his food is either redundant (i.e. squirt bottles with salsa verde or some form of chipolte) or has too many ingredients for my taste-overkill

that and Ive been to two of his restaurants (Bolo and Mesa) and was not impressed

He is talented, I respect what he has done, but Ive never really been impressed by his food.

Yeah, wth with the pretzel consomme?????
I want to go to Babbo so badly...I mean, really, really badly...:(
I also want to go to Paula's place in Georgia, but I will have to cut out cholesterol for a month or so before going. lol
I wanted to go to Emeril's in New Orleans when we were there...the one out near the garden district, but no dice.
If you have been watching the Iron Chef show, I would like to go to a couple of their restaurants.

I love Gordon Ramsey! He was on Martha once and he was so unassuming. Awesome chef.
Does Jamie Oliver ( I love you Jamie, if you are reading...really...I would be a great sous chef...;) ;);) )have a restaurant in the States?

I would like to, but it always falls off my list-for some reason I dont really go to hotel restaurants-no real reason though

When I want fancy food, I always end up at the same two places
Cafe boulud and Gotham bar and grill

Babbo: Been there twice. Sat next to Gwyenth and Chris Martin the last time.
Food is ok. But I was really turned off by the service-which was sub par for a restaurant that is $$$.

Oh, I didn't think you were rubbing it in. :)
I will eat vicariously through you. lol
I keep saying to myself that I will go into the city one day with or without my son and go have lunch at Babbo....or Nobu. My little one loves to put sushi in his mouth and then return it to the plate if it seems a bit too fishy for him. :)
He is awesome with those kiddie chopsticks.

Im a bit of a foodie, its a passion!
    now your talking my language
sushi and japanese food is my passion-my wife is Japanese

Nobu is not the place to go. Its ok. Its cool. A few of the dishes are good.
But for truly good raw fish, I have other places to suggest.
Babbo and Nobu are basically places where you pay for the name and the scene. Not necessarily the food.

How old is your son if I may ask?

The finale was cool. Besh went down. You could tell he was thinking "no way I lost"
Oh well. So the new Iron Chef is Chef Symon. He did a great job.
So what happened was instead of 5 dishes, they both decided to do 6. But of course, overkill Besh had to kiss up to Morimoto and make a dessert that was sub par and I think may have been a big reason he lost.
The not-so-secret ingredient was swordfish. Anyone that has eyes knew this beforehand as the previews showed one of the chefs hightailing it across the kitchen with a huge swordfish in his arms..
I found Besh's food to be predictable and not that inspired.
Symon did a great job and even used the submersion cooker.

I did not think either was that good or innovative.

I liked them both but I did think overall I would like Chef's Symon's food over Chef Besh's food except for the final challenge I thought Chefs Besh's food sounded better. Chef Symon's use of lamb's tongue was a little freaky to me and he used it in 2 dishes. I like his personality though and I think he will make a very good iron chef.

What was especially disturbing about the lamb tounge was Alton's fascination with it. And whenever he said it, it was all cutsy...that grossed me out.

I agree Getright...nothing was phenomenal. But I like Symon better throughout.

I read a couple blogs this morning.
Andrew Knowlton was pretty blunt in his thoughts.
