I feel like these 2 songs are like brothers. They are both different but I feel like they are a string of songs that create the same type of feeling. A certain aura when listening to them.

Hard to Imagine.

Nothing as it seems is amazing... but after seeing Hard To Imagine live.. it gave me a whole new outlook on the song. What a beautiful song, the surprise "Things were different thennnnnnnn!!!!!" the combination of great drumming and the sweet sounds of the guitar make for a fantastic song. The song is flawless.

Nothing as it seems:

If they were to play this song the next show I go to, I could leave right then and there (OF COURSE I WOULDN'T) what this is one of PJ's haunting kind of songs, along side Immortality. Stone gives the song that constant heartbeat coupled with McCready and his howling guitar.. the distortion makes for quite the ear-gasm. The perfect song for a festival at night.

Hard to Imagine is one of pearl jams best songs. period.

NAIS not so much, its haunting and beautiful but cannot hold a candle to HTI.

I think NAIS is every bit as good as HTI. HTI is cool and all, but I think it gets some alot of extra hype b/c it wasn't played for years.

    This is easy for me...

Hard to Imagine is the good looking, successful, physician brother while

NAIS is the high school dropout meth lab trailer trash brother that no one ever wants to hear from. ;)

I've seen both of these as opening songs (NAIS in Cardiff in 2000 and HTI at Madison Square Garden last year) and I have to say that I prefer NAIS live. I love the way that HTI builds up as the song goes on but when the first thing you hear at a show is the intro to NAIS it really sends a shiver down your spine.
