ha! I know, no room for that here, right? I hate to seem like that "always-negative" guy, but this same guy has started 5 threads about the Chicago shows, that he has it "on good authority" that they will play certain songs, and now this BS thread. I'm kind of intrigued as to what his motive is...just boredom?

I dont think anyone buys it. If you're going to lie make it at least believable. Maybe say they've got a longer curfew or something... don't post songs they'll play and that it will be 40+ songs!

Either way - one thing I do hate to agree with you on is that Chicago shows have much 'safer' setlists. I'm hoping this time might be a different situation with no album to promote (assuming the new album isn't out by then which is looking about right)... so hopefully over two nights they can pull out some good stuff.

Maybe for the stadium shows, but the Vic had a pretty good setlist, no?

Folks let's cut down on the negativity on this thread for God's sake, I hate hearing how this show isn't all 10 clubbers, etc. It is the all 10C show plus another one that has been long rumored . . . and now we are going to get all negative?

    To repeat.

    (1) These shows are virtually 100% 10C with nominal public sales.
    (2) Many 10 clubbers will therefore be upper deck.
    (3) There was no "10%" limit on fan club tix -- why do you think will call starts at 11 a.m.? Because the whole arena is fan club!
    (4) There are virtually no tickets to these completely sold out shows available, making them the 2009 equivalent of U2's 1992 Zoo TV arena tour. A legendarily tough ticket.
    (5) Ed will NOT screw around in Chicago -- likely the band will try to try something like playing their entire catalog over both nights, no repeats. Expect 40 songs on night 1, with the band taking it to a new level on Night 2.
    (6) It is possible Wilco will open.

THIS IS THE ZENITH OF PEARL JAM'S CAREER FOLKS, THEY'VE NEVER BEEN BIGGER, 47,000 LUCKY FANS WILL SEE THEM IN CHI-TOWN FOR THIS LANDMARK STAND. GIVE THANKS IF YOU GOT 10C TIX.
People like you make me laugh.. what's your purpose behind posting this theory as fact? I sincerely would like to know. Frankly, if you do not work for the Ten Club, Pearl Jam, or are not a high-level Ticketmaster employee, you should not be posting crap (and I use the term loosely) like this. How about some sort of disclaimer.. a "wouldn't it be great if..." or an "I think this is what happened", or even a "my friend who works for Ten Club", rather than wording your opinion as an official statement.

Yeah, but that WAS a TC only show. If you take their 'stadium/regular' shows since 1998 and on... nothing crazy really. Nice, solid long shows... but no setlists that are going to live on as 'special' shows.

And I am not trying to say the shows were bad - I was at all of them and they were all amazing. But... in 98 they did one show which was good but nothing crazy. 2000 they had a nice solid show after the ice bowl at Alpine. 2003 they had another nice show but nothing compared to the show @ Alpine. And then in 06 two nice, solid sets with nothing too crazy to write home about. Even Lolla was a very tame setlist and a shorter one.

Now the Vic in 07 and the House of Blues in 05... those were both something a bit crazier setlist wise.

2000 had one of the best shows of the tour. 03 Ed was very sick.... 06 had back to back nights that covered its fair share of the tour songs. I'd say Chitown's due for a monster.

There is no way this is a 10C only (or even mostly) show. I don't know if anyone posted this, but the way TM works is that it assumes seats facing center stage are the best no matter where they are. So, sections 304-313 will sell before most tickets on the sides. That's why you can go online the day before the show and find awesome seats in, say, 114 or 220. Considering I just pulled seats for night one in section 310, that means most of the upper deck is open so 10C members won't be forced up there. Plus 11 AM is just the time the box office opens, it even opens at 12 on Sundays for 7:30 PM Bulls games.

Yeah -2000 was a great show. It was 30 songs and 2.5 hours... I'm not saying it was bad by any stretch. But going through the setlists from 2000 I don't think it sticks out a ton in terms of being real different.

03 yeah Ed was sick and 06 did cover a lot of ground over two nights, but again... it didn't get anything terribly crazy at those shows.

I'm not saying Chicago shows are bad - I've been thrilled with all of them and they are all usually fairly lengthy shows. Just saying they don't typically get those shows that are just full of surprises.

Not sure if this was mentioned in this strand, but, if you hold Season tickets to a Chicago team (Bulls, Blackhawks) at the United Center, you automatically get the right to buy those same seats for ANY event that is at the UC, including Pearl Jam.

So, it is NOT 100% or anywhere close to 100% 10c as there are probably 5,000 or season ticket holders each grabbing 2-4 seats for these events...That is also why you see tickets pop up on ebay so quick, becuase people already know what seats they will have as they are the same as their season tickets!

    Hope this helps.

Looking on Stubhub and Ticketmaster it appears that there are no tickets being sold behind the stage....does the United Center ever sell those seats? I know some Pearl Jam shows do have fans back there...

Wasn't night 2 only on sale for one day for 10C members compared to 3 or 4 days for the first show? I could be wrong, but that leads me to believe less 10C members at night 2 than night 1. Doesn't matter where I sit, I just want to see them already! 3+ years is a long time to go in between shows.

Could be wrong, but those are usually released closer to day of show. I remember people sitting behind stage at last two shows at UC.

everyone is excited about these shows, its just kinda crazy on your end to try and hype this show up posting stuff of which you have no proof off, i think that's the beef most have with you no one is being negative about the show.

You took the words out of my mouth...

I have actually never been as excited for Chicago PJ shows (aside from the whole Vic thing, but that was very last minuet) just because it feels somewhat 'special' to get these shows in what is not really a big tour. I can't wait.

But I also know I'm not getting 40+ song sets with an opening band Wilco who is apparently going to magically beam in from Europe to Chicago and back again.

I do agree with what many have suggested though, that there seems to be more 10C seats this time around compared to last tour.

I suspect that the reason for this is because it seems like (in my opinion) Ten Club has relaxed its standards regarding seating that is acceptable to offer to members. As a result, Ten Club probably has more tickets available than in years past.

Prior to the recent Ten Club presales for the upcoming shows, I never recall seeing "newer members should not expect prime seat locations" in any ticketing annoucements.

I just went on TM and for the 1st show, the closest I could find was sect. 310.
The 2nd show was sect. 333!

Seems like the average non-10clubber is going to need Kleenex for their nosebleeds!

I thought that was more for the people that had just registered to buy tickets.

I think in the past had they been able to get more tickets they would have, so it does appear they've been able to get more tickets. I think now that they've gotten more of an allocation they also are putting that warning because being member #180,000 with 10% of tickets will be a lot closer than member #180,000 with 30%, etc.

I have a pretty high number so I decided to wait until to today instead of the presale, I got sec 120 row 3 Its probably way better than I would have got through 10c, although sweating it out and refreshing like a mother fcker did suck.
