You Are is pure genius!

The way the music grooves, the sound of the guitars, the little subtleties, every time I listen to it I hear something new.

Minus the cheesy lyrics, but maybe this song needs cheesy lyrics to balance out how freakin' groovy it is!

    love this song. when we heard it live from the riot act tour it blew me away. one of my favorite tunes.

    It was refreshing. Pearl Jam reinventing themselves. As awesome as it was, something Avocado lacked.

    I love this song!!! I actually really really like the Riot Act Album. I know a lot of people on here bash Riot Act but it is one of my favorite PJ albums.

    this was my favourite PJ song in a LONG time when RA came out. While it wasnt played at any shows ive been to, the version on LATG kicks my ass everytime i hear it. the singing, the fat bass, the delayed guitars, the breakdown in the middle with buidling &backing vocals....awesome.

    RA had some really good experimental moments....spoken word Bushleaguer, Cant Keep, general use of organ, Arc, the weird vocals in Help Help. Matt shouldve sung Get Right, the demo of that pisses all over album version.

    Stone's riff is nothing short of infectious! i find the live version much better than the studio version..check out the Uniondale NY 04-30-2003 version.

    Indeed it is pure genius. Great guitar work, Stone is just phenomenal when it comes to catchy riffs. He just has a natural gift. I think the lyrics are good, not great, but good. :D

    I was so glad that I got this live last tour because it was on my personal wishlist of songs to hear. I've always considered "You Are" to be as close to R&B as PJ may ever get. So much low level groove, the crushy guitar and I really dig songs that Cameron has a heavy hand in. You can almost always tell a Cameron song from all other PJ songs.

    Yes, that's the problem with Avocado. I prefer Riot Act over Avocado because at least they tried different things.
    When Riot Act was released, I hated You Are. Now I think it is a good song with weak lyrics. The sound of the guitars is amazing.

    This song was written by Matt Cameron not Stone.
