finally...liddell vs. silva. it's about two years too late, but better late than never.

matt serra suffered a back injury which will keep him out for an indefinite amount of time. GSP and hughes will meet for the third time for an interim belt that will be unified when serra is healthy.

also, the debut of sokoudjou!

    thanks roland. i don't check the official sites often enough. you're right. they do a pretty sweet job of putting them together. i'm with you in cheering for chuck this time. can't say that i like wanderlei at all, and was overjoyed with his last two losses. :) chuck also has his two losses, so i hope he is the one who gets back on the winning track in this one.

    no worries, roland and ceg. i wish the video quality was better to be able to see the quickness better. i also wish it had the beginning interview and post fight audio. in the beginning, trigg was talking about how georges was a b level fighter at best and that trigg would be the one to put him in a real fight for the first time. georges then made his famous "he won' be able to 'andle my riddum" comment. :D

    after the fight, joe rogan goes on to say that it is the most completely dominated he has ever seen frank trigg, and trigg goes up to georges and gives him a hug telling him "you are so good."

    as a gsp fan, obviously it's one of my faves, so i'm happy to find it to share. :)

    oh yeah, and the part where they pan the audience and shaquille o'neal goes "holy shit, georges st-pierre!" is also missing. :D

    two fights tonight. :)

    i'm thinking george will have a relatively easy fight against richie. he should have a big advantage on the ground and should probably take it there. matt vs. troy should be more competitive, but matt will definitely be trying to take this one down. i'll say submission wins for both matt and george.

    ceg, i can't stop thinking about monkey jiu-jitsu now. :D i think it was matt serra's little brother, nick, who used to wear a monkey mask to the cage and referred to his jiu-jitsu as monkey jiu-jitsu.

    curious georges. :) i like it. (i still have my curious georges stuffed animal from when i was a kid...true story :D)

    serra's little brother fights too? that's cool... yah, i can see serra being fairly monkey-ish.... like that jumping take-down into guard thingy he did in the grappling match... :)

    I agree with your prediction about George, but I think I'm going with Troy over Matt. Not sure why ... just a gut feeling.

    yeah, i thnk nick has had two? fights in the ufc, maybe. one that i've seen for sure at UFC 37.5, but he's done other smaller shows in the new york area. similar jiu-jitsu style to matt, but without matt's striking.

    ...and me and curious georges have been through a lot together so it might be tough to loan him out. i even had to operate on him once when his wind-up music box broke and i had to perform an emergency music-box-endectomy. now, he's nice and fluffy with one eye, no nose and half a mouth. :)

    i forgot about the mini-marathon today, so i'm watching that now and waiting for the show. matt a. is going over to the dark side, so he might have that bad luck wind blowing at his back, and in that case you're gut is telling you right. :D i hope it's a good one. sounds like serra is staying away from both of them during training and the fight if the preview i read on the guide is any indication.

    that was a kind gesture from matt hughes to get the money doubled to 3,000$ each for the winning team...too bad it wasn't for his team...:D

    so, it looks like a consensus on george, and a split on matt vs. troy. with a 1/2 hour left, neither fight is looking like it's going to be a long one.

    that was a quick one. i feel bad for troy, as they both seem like really good guys. he didn't have much chance once matt got the takedown, and matt's on to the semi's.

    yeah, definitely a better performance from richie than i thought we'd see. he put up a good fight.

    the whole show was kind of awkward with the overall situation. teammate vs. teammate times two. tough thing to deal with for everyone.

    looks like a fight in the house next week, so i wonder if jared and war machine will be kicked out? i read an interview with jared where he said he's training for the finale but couldn't say who his opponent was, so it will be interesting to see what comes of it.

    no awkwardness next week, i'll be cheering for ben. :) i think he can beat tommy any number of ways, but i can only see tommy winning if he's able to hold ben down and work elbows. i'm not sure he can do it.

    so i'm guessing your pick stems from your dislike for chuck and not support for wanderlei? you can't possibly be a tito AND wanderlei fan?! :D

    i'll be cheering for chuck just because i dislike wanderlei so much, but i wouldn't be surprised if the ol' eye poke comes into play.
