  • I saw Todd Barry open for Sarah Silverman last weekend in Atlantic City, and I was laughing the entire time. His act was a lot funnier than hers, actually.

Edited to add: You should hear Patton Oswalt's Werewolves and Lollipops. Parts of it had me crying the first time I heard it.

Every one of those would have been on my list.:D

I'll add two Irish comedians... Dylan Moran and David O'Doherty.

And Al Murray, the Pub Landlord! He's the excellent thing!
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

.....Also Lewis Black is pretty funny in his second HBO comedy special, “Red, White and Screwed” (2006), which featured his jabbing commentary on the Iraq War, gay marriage and Vice President Dick Cheney shooting his hunting buddy in the face.

It was shot here in DC and had me rolling. :)

I love Lewis Black! George Carlin is probably my all time favorite. I have my parent's old albums.........

Also like Dave Chappelle, Pryor, Bill Hicks..............there are so many good ones.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

  • i actually just saw Carlin last sat. night and was a little disappointed. wasn't so much funny as it was observational ranting type stuff. still worth seeing the legend though.

I don't get the fascination with Sarah Silverman. I think she's just so unoriginal, there doesn't seem to much to her. How long has been around (as in known to a large enough audience) in the US?

The transcripts of the Derek & Clive stuff is here ... http://www.phespirit.info/derekandclive/ ... in some of it Peter Cook really has a go at Dudley Moore though :o

Anyone ever caught Noble live? I was shocked to see that the entire act was improv, he was on for three hours and that was on top of a thrity minute interval. Pickin up his new DVD Fizzy Logic later this afternoon :)

i feel the same way about bill hicks and david cross. they've got their amusing moments, but it's mostly just ranting with no jokes, timing, or punchline.

Ross Noble is the double of my friend which makes him doubly funny. Sometimes im not sure if its the similarity im laughing at or his jokes.

Seriously though, he's a funny guy.
