  • well, im no photographer nor is my camera of decent quality.. But i checked this post out and your pictures are really nice.

I took these yesterday, i just got back from a camping/kayaking trip.

    http://img277.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img1262cy1.jpg

This was from the front of my kayak, water level, going down the middle of the river. I was taunting the rapids with my 300$ digital :)..

And for laughs, with a mile left in my 15 mile trip down that river i did flip the kayak on a class 5 rapid and the camera came out of my dry hold. Its dead, but the card survived!

    Nice shots folks.
You've changed your place in this world!
  • under the 'Some of my photos' album I have a few photos of a trip to North Carolina about 2 months ago. I've been really awful with keeping up to date with posting my photos, but I put up a few good ones! There are also a few nature shots in the black & white album.

I finally got around to sifting through your pages and there are some really nice shots. I really dug these three. I especially liked seeing the band in black and white. I have a fondess for shooting with B/W every once in a while.

No, definitly no shop de photo. I never photoshop my pics, simply cause I don't have photoshop skills. What you see is exactly what I saw.

Al lot of (professional) photographers would disagree with that. Some say photography actually begins in the photoshop (or in the dark room), after you take the photo. All depends on what you're aiming for, I guess.

But that's another discussion and I don't want to hijack this nice thread.

definitely depends on the photographer, sooo many differing opinions on such. me, i am rather a purist, but sure...we all do some tinkering in the darkroom, burning/dodging, getting that perfect tone, etc......but i really, really, really....like to compose IN the camera, little to no cropping after the fact. not always successful, but it's a great exercise to aim for, to train your eye....'see' the image in it's entirety, b/c far too many start off with very lazy compositions. :p anyhoo.......beautiful colors absolutely in those skies!

We were out walking the other day and I brought up your other pictures of clouds and how you say they are cool. We agreed, as we like to look up at the ever changing white masses and take them in.
