Send them about 12 coats each and then maybe they'll come to you :p
Seriously though, I've always wondered that myself. Hopefully they visit you sometime soon :)

Hey smokeabud! Welcome to the board and that's a cool name. ;) That is a great question you propose. Possibly the demand is not that big up in your state....possibly? Is that the only state they haven't played?

Does ANYBODY ever play in Alaska? I don't think I've ever seen any significant bands list a tour date there.

Good luck, though. Maybe they'll play close to Alaska on the next tour since they are allegedly supposed to tour Canada extensively.

Where did you hear this? It'd be nice, and I'm thinking it's about time PJ played more spots than Van, TO and MTL.. Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal would be a great little Canadian tour. And you might draw more fans out in excitement if you actually spent a little time in our great country, eh guys? :D

you mean people actually live in Alaska?

maybe the perpetual daylight/no daylight thing has them freaked. or maybe there's only like 13 tenclub members there.

    Hi,

Don't forget, a summertime PJ show in Alaska would also attract a bunch of Canucks from the Yukon Territory. Sure, there isn't a huge population; but with all those those granola crunchin', gearhead types enjoying the outdoor adventure and mountains in a balmy July, we'd definitely take some time to see PJ. The mountains would be a wonderful backdrop for this show.

I know what you mean. I was there for 4 yrs (97-01) and missed the whole 2000 tour. In the summer I have seen temps in the low 90s in Fairbanks, the armpit of AK. It isnt all snow and ice!

Also remember pot was legal in AK until 93 and it is on the ballot to be legalized every year. It would be one hell of a party!

its not worth the money of transporting that much equipment that far away for a fan base that they are unsure of and to a place where there's little or no other major places to play near. so your answer? : $$$$$

They need to play at a place like Alaska it would be a monumental show because it hasnt been done much. The Dead played the pyramids at Egypt and that show is historic. There has to be some kind of a venue in Anchorage.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Aren't drugs a federal crime? Thus making it illegal in all states?

yes, however the priority of controlling the drug problem can be different from state to state

    LOL , wow interesting replies.

Am a transplant from the Chicago area. I now live in that so called ARM pit called Fairbanks. & Summer temps can easily reach the 90's .

You can have up to 4oz in your home. ( Don't get caught drinking & driving up here though )

Hawaii is the MOST expensive state in the United States , if they can play Hawaii Y not AK ?

The band grew up in the great North west. Whats the big deal ?

Lots of bands have toured thru here, they have Sullivan Arena in Anchorage. Where the Great Alaska Shootout NCAA Basketball Tourney is held every year.

I saw the band first play back at the Arragon Ballroom in 91 .. other then the 2003 concert i've seen them every time in Chiacgo. + Seattle. & 3x in Eurpoe in 2000.

Too expensive ? sounds like a copout excuse...

i just think it would be cool to see them play AK.

anyways thanks to all for replying..
