Who's been there? Is it the obvious pick for someone flying in from out of town? Will this be the toughest of the shows to get tickets to? GA or Reserved on the floor? Thanks.

Seems like all of the other venues are reserved seats, so it would be logical to assume they will use their reserved seat set-up.

I am going there tonight for DJ Shadow, so I will inquire!

They yanked the fixed seating back around 2004. For most of the rock shows (Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers, Queens) all of the floor is open General Admission. Although the tiers can be configued for seating.
It's going to be a crap shoot on which configuration they choose.

I like the Wiltern as it's an old theatre venue that you can imagine old-school Hollywood occupying back in it's glory days. I also like it because it is an all GA venue divided between the floor in front of the stage (pit-like), a raised floor that's stage-level (still al standing but gives you a more level view of the stage) and the upper balcony. There's theatre-style seating in the balcony but it's still GA...sit where you want if you sit at all. I've never been to a show there where they've invoked the seating at all levels.

When you buy your tickets, the ticket will identify which GA you get: lower or upper, so beware the difference before you hit "purchase".

I don't think any one of the 3 Southern California shows will be easier to get than another. Seriously.

Yeah I have school through those concerts so I am going to try and fly in Friday night and see the two Wiltern shows and then fly out Monday morning and not even miss any school. Plane tickets will run $300, and that's only if I don't get shut out on Monday.

So, when they say two tickets per member, do they mean two tickets to each show or two tickets period? (Please forgive my ignorance; it's my first time.)

You can buy a pair for each show.

the wiltern is a GREAT place to see shows. Ive been in the 'pit' several times there and its awesome. Theres a raised part of the pit that is pretty cool too. I've stood there during other shows where i just wanna check out the show and watch people going NUTS on the floor. Every show i've been to there has been GA so i dont know about reserved anything! Bottom line is, if you get a ticket? dont even trip cuz all seats/areas are pretty good.

if you go on ticketmaster.com - some of the upcoming shows are general seating and some do have reserved seating. I guess it depends on the artist.

Damn you people. Just on plain coincidence, I'm going to be in L.A. on the 12th and 13th for work. Flights have been booked since September. I'm working the night of the 13th, and have nothing to do the 12th.

If I don't get a ticket for the 12th, I'm personally driving around and kicking all your asses. ;)

Why do we think this will be a tough ticket? Not disagreeing, just wondering.

To me, it would seem like there isn't going to be a large demand for these tickets outside the people on this board. When I tell most people I know I might get to see Ed Vedder play solo while I'm out in Los Angeles, eight out of 10 say, "Who?"

Of course, since they are smaller venues, maybe the demand from the folks on this board will be enough to fill it up.

I was just at the Wiltern last weekend for the Editors show. One of my favorite venues...though I prefer sitting up in the balcony than the floor. Staff is pretty cool too...I've never had a problem with cameras or anything with them. I've seen Belle and Sebastian, New Pornographers, Editors, Beastie Boys and Explosions in the Sky (next month for Explosions) there. My favorite marquee in town...and art deco structure.

I emailed 10c on Friday about the GA/Reserved thing because I wondered the same thing. The response I got was that all tickets at this venue would be reserved. So they must be putting seats on the floor. The question is, will a reserved seat towards the back end of the floor be better or worse than the front few balcony seats? And will 10c be selling only floor seats or will it be a mix?

No idea how many tickets the 10c is getting. They should have just made these 10c shows. If there are any tickets left over, let TM sell them. Unfortunately that's not the case.
As for your question about balcony seating: it's been my experience that the front few rows in the balcony are better than the last few rows in the orchestra.

That's assuming that the 10% number will apply.

D'oh! Please don't tell me 10% of the show will be for 10club seating? :(

I'm flying from Halifax, NS to Los Angeles, CA to catch those 2 show's at Wiltern. Also catch the Santa Barbara show. I pray it goes well this Monday getting those tickets. And I wish it goes well for you guy's too on getting tickets!

yeah, that makes sense. The 10C tickets might be hard to come by. I would imagine Ticketmaster might wind up being a little easier.

All in all, I'm not freaking out about getting tickets to this thing, somehow.
