Avenatti

This is an odd situation.  If he actually did abuse a woman then he should rot in jail for as long as possible, but this smells like a really odd frame job.

I personally wouldn’t like him if he is actually guilty of abuse, but it doesn’t seem like we know anything now. It’s an odd situation, with an allegation of an allegation, so to speak,  but no actual allegation.

    "If he actually did"...

Did Brett Kavanaugh receive the same cautious approach as porn lawyer or was it an immediate guilty verdict to you?

Because there were certainly people here not willing to wait until evidence was heard.  Were you one of them?  Maybe I should go check.

“If he actually did it”, because no victim has come forth, no accusation has been made, and one person who was said to be the victim has come out with a statement that she never experienced abuse from Avenatti.

I’m sure you see the difference there.

Too bad about Avenetti. He was fun watching. At first atleast. Then he got high on this person the media described him as, and wanted to become president.

The idea of him as president was always laughable.  Though not Donald Trump-laughable.

The silver lining to him getting the nomination would have been watching him run up the score in the debates.  (On the way to losing 45 states)

Was there actually serious thought about him running? I don’t recal hearing about it.

He seemed serious about it. But that doesn't mean it would have been serious.

Wohl, the guy behind the fake accusation of abuse against Mueller, seems to be involved here again, at least according to his tweets. That’s enough evidence for me to wait a little longer. That and the lack of a victim at this point.

Edit: should have also said that the presence of actual charges rather than just allegations weighs in favour of it being legitimate, though.

You seem to have a real hard time comparing one situation to another.

There is no woman who has come forward and stated that Avenatti abused her.  Now....compare that to Dr. Ford as it relates to Kavanaugh.

See how that works?  Big boy pants feel good right?

Live by the baseless accusations, die by the baseless accusations.  His biggest difference is that an extension of the law was actually involved at some point, at least in regards to an initial police report.  Not that laws and reports and due process carry any weight in the age of Twitter judgement.

Charges dropped? No evidence to prosecute? Pretty easy to make an allegation. But, you know, testimony. Coming forward. Jury of your peers.

    Doesn’t sound good at all.

That was an odd comment about “calling her ‘ungrateful’”, though. Not sure why that’s relevant to allegations of abuse.

And he got especially popular once The Apprentice started airing (or he more had a resurgence of popularity, because yeah, he was a pop culture icon in the 80s... and that slumped in the 90s, which is probably why he decided to start his own network show. The guy needs his fans.

Yeah, but George Clooney, Taylor Swift, Steph Curry, and Aaron Rodgers are also popular and the idea of any of them as president is laughable.  The fact that Trump was famous (moreso than popular) doesn't make him any less laughable than Avenatti.  Oh well, Avenatti has assualted 1/19 of the women that Trump has, so it's a moot point.

I certainly wasn't suggesting that Trump being POTUS isn't laughable. It totally was and still is. It's fucking ridiculous. More so than all of the other people you names, since none of them are fucking demented and senile as far as I can tell, and I think they all have a shred of morality too. I also think Avenatti is far more suited to the job than Trump. That doesn't mean I don't think the idea is idiotic... But nobody as POTUS is as idiotic as Trump being POTUS. I'm not sure a 12 year old being in the Oval Office would be more ridiculous than Trump being there.
