I'd buy an island.  Straight up have my own island.

I would then set up a trust to help with Epilepsy discovery/science programs.

    I'd give many millions of it to family, friends, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare. I'd also financially sponsor some refugees who are fleeing political persecution for their progressive views about human and civil rights.
    And then I'd just buy a penthouse in Vancouver, and another in NYC, furnish both to my liking, and then travel around the world whenever I felt like it, going to any and all concerts that I wanted to. It would be fucking awesome. I'd also buy the best fucking stereo system money can buy for each of my penthouses, both complete with solid vinyl collections.

    Correct.  If you did cash option  you would get like 500 mil after taxes.  That is a third of what it was.

    If you opted for the 30 year payout you would have received 53 mil before taxes and about 30 mil a year after.

    The question would be could you take the 500 mil guaranteed and turn it into the 900 mil you would have gotten over 30 years?

    Or just screw it and enjoy the 500mil?
