Why do right wingers seem so bent out of shape about O'Rouke playing air drums at the drive-thru one time while Baba O'Riley was on? It's like an obsession, lol.
If that’s in reference to me, I honestly hadn’t even heard of it before I read it on here an hour ago and I saw it like in 5 posts so I mentioned it because people seemed to think it made him a candidate all of a sudden.
It was the reason Spiritual Chaos thought I should vote for him, lol
Oh god.  That sounds about right.  I have tons of friends all rocking Beto signs in their yards and t shirts and they went to watch Willie put on the show for his rally a few weeks ago.... they all just want to vote for the legal weed.  If that’s all I cared about I’d be on board too for sure but austin’s Taxes on homeowners (not just business owners) are sky high already, it’ll suck if Beto gets his way
Legalizing weed is a really big deal though, socially, criminally, and economically (including in terms of taxation). A big enough deal for it to be a perfectly legit reason to vote for someone, for sure. A plus: if it's legalized, that's tons of tax revenue that can then potentially not be placed on homeowners.

True but all in good time- I’m all for weed for the exact reasons you gave, but that’s going to happen regardless.  Weed isn’t enough to make me vote for him because I think Texas will be for weed in the next 10 years regardless if it’s a creep like Cruz who’s in office when it happens.

I don;t think any single issue is big enough with so many important issues.

That said, I have no idea why it's not legal AND taxed.  Like Prostitution.

    the pro-birth folks confuse me.

they seem to want to restrict contraception which leads to a rise in unintended/unwanted prenancies. which leads to a rise in abortions sought.

I should think they would want pregnancies with intention.

I say pro-birth cuz it aint about life and living. they want to cut education, social support, etc...

its once you're born , you can go fuck yourself kid.

Those self-righteous evangelicals have completely lost the plot, which is obvious when you look at their support of the current POTUS - liar, cheater, philanderer, sexual predator, adulterer, and fake religionist. I have no idea how these hypocrites reconcile their supposed religious views with their political views. They don't match up in any way except the anti-choice platform position. Single issue voters who made a deal with the devil.

Excellent, good thing they have the option to not get an abortion if they still accidentally get pregnant.

Depends on the contraception. If anything they oppose things like Plan B but are generally fine with standard birth control pills, condoms, etc.

That's only true for some. You know that the Catholic Church still opposes birth control, right? And that many bible thumpers preach abstinence for a reason? But even worse, those anti-abortionists who don't oppose standard birth control are mostly still SUPER against Planned Parenthood, which, of course, distributes birth control, offers education on it, and generally provides medical services for women, including pregnant ones who want to carry to term.

I'm talking about most pro-lifers. The issue in the article you're posting is about a much wider range public health funding issue. Birth control is being impacted, but are you saying pro-lifers hate insulin too?

    the pro-birth folks confuse me.

they seem to want to restrict contraception which leads to a rise in unintended/unwanted prenancies. which leads to a rise in abortions sought.

I should think they would want pregnancies with intention.

I say pro-birth cuz it aint about life and living. they want to cut education, social support, etc...

Catholics don't move in lock step with the church and public funding of a good is different than restriction of sale. I'm talking banning as in take it off the market. If someone says they're fine with it being sold but they don't want to pay for it, that's a separate thing.

No, the insulin story is an analogy of how perfectly legal birth control and family planning that you claimed were acceptable to “pro-lifers” are under assualt by Team Trump Treason’s ass kissing of Evangelicals with nothing but kudos from the “pro-life” despite the overwhelming evidence that those policies reduce unwanted pregnancies and improve women’s lives. No need for any confusion.

Sure, they dont want any unborn babies getting killed in the womb.

But what they really really really dont want is young ladies getting laid, especially before marriage.

Maybe, but since people here like to post every incident of gun violence, here is some recent incidents of grenade violence in Sweden:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_grenade_attacks_in_Sweden

    2002-2012

    • Four hand grenades exploded under cars in Gothenburg between 2002 and 2006 (one in 2002 and in 2004, and two in 2006). The attacks were linked to a local Bandidos group that was founded and led by Mehdi Seyyed.[22] Seyyed was sentenced to nine years in prison for the two attacks in 2006.[23]
    • Two explosive attacks or attempts (one in 2011, one in 2008), were reported to be as a result of hand grenades, among 22 bomb attacks in Malmö between 2008 and 2011.[24]

    2013

    • 9 June, Malmö, a hand grenade exploded in a garbage shed on Ramels väg, damaging several cars.[14]
    • 14 September, Malmö, two people were hospitalised after a hand grenade exploded at Köpmansgatan.[14]
    • 9 November, Malmö, a device exploded in the stairwell of an assembly building in Norra Grängesbergsgatan.[25]

    2014

    • 26 January, Malmö, a hand grenade was thrown into the window of a family's home in Seved. Thought to have been thrown by the assailants into a mistaken apartment, the family of three were said by police to have likely survived only because the father managed to close the bedroom door in time.[14]
    • 15 April, Malmö, a grenade exploded outside a restaurant in Adelgatan.[14]
    • 6 May, Malmö, one man was severely injured after a grenade was thrown into his apartment on Estlandsgatan. The grenade was thought by police to have been thrown into a mistaken apartment by the assailants.[14]
    • 19 May, Malmö, a grenade exploded in Seved damaging eight cars and several buildings.[14
Every incident? Nobody got time for that. But these folks do. Just the last 72 hours. Includes deaths too.

    https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/last-72-hours

Interesting. 11 pages of incidents of gun violence in the US, in just the last 72 hours - October 15 - 17, 2018. 11 pages, compared to one (or, if you use a larger type face, two) of grenade violence in Sweden in the past 20 years.

Interesting. 11 pages of incidents of gun violence in the US, in just the last 72 hours - October 15 - 17, 2018. 11 pages, compared to one (or, if you use a larger type face, two) of grenade violence in Sweden in the past 20 years.
And every gun owner was “responsible” until they weren’t and every gun began its life as a “legal” firearm. Woot! USA USA USA We’re number one, we’re number one, we’re number one! And we wish we had grenades like Sweden does. Fishing be a whole lot easier, yuck yuck, woot.

Smart move by the guy with the whitest name ever bestowed upon a white dude going with the latino nickname in Texas.
think he got that in grade school.
I'm sure he did.  And now is using it to his political advantage.  As I said, smart.  Because if I'm latino and I see a sign that say Beto I would associate with it.  Versus Robert O'Rourke which conjures up an image of the old white guy that trained Rocky in the first few movies.
    thats Mickey Goldmill

There are people that are anti-abortion and for sex education and access to birth control, etc.
Excellent, good thing they have the option to not get an abortion if they still accidentally get pregnant.
Using this same standard...if you are for gun control...good thing you don't have to buy a gun.  If you are for providing food to the poor...good thing you can send them your paycheck.  Such a stupid, ignorant bullshit talking point remark.

I don't see the same standard here...
