No Profane Shirts at Fenway

kid canadakid canada Toronto Posts: 440
Just a heads up for anyone. I went to the 2016 shows so it's possible this has changed since then but I doubt it. I wore my Green River shirt to one of the shows, which says "Ride the Fucking Sixpack" on the back. I was standing outside the park and a stadium security guy approached me and told me I would not be allowed inside Fenway with that shirt on because of the F word. He said that personally he didn't care, but that Fenway is monitored by security cameras and his boss had specifically buzzed him to tell "the guy in the shirt that says Ride the Fucking Sixpack" that I couldn't wear the shirt. So I turned it inside out. Was thinking about packing it for this weekend and remembered.

The full and proper tradition would be me wearing it the right way and being told by a security guard that I wouldn't be allowed with it on...so yeah, maybe that's the move.

Considering the profanity you HEAR at Red Sox games - where there are tons of kids - I'm surprised they're worried about t shirts at a rock concert.

Maybe they're concerned with the 2 year old that got his first GA ticket??!!!!

That rule only applies if you are not wearing a pink hat and singing Sweet Caroline as you enter the stadium...

What's up with Fenway? No GA, no profane t-shirts... Do all the ladies have to wear long skirts too? ;)

When I did my first stint in Boston back in the late 90s and early aughts, it was still illegal to get a tattoo here. Now pot is legal; you just still have to purchase it illegally. And tattoos have been legal for a while now. Baby steps away from Puritanism.
