Space Needle Advice Needed

What are some recommendations? Should I buy tickets in advance? Also I noticed if you do buy a ticket in advance, they are in time frames (For example, 8am-Noon). Does that mean I can walk up anytime during that range or how does it work?

If you buy "timed" tickets you can only enter during that time and it is very limited, I've checked out the website and I've decided I'll purchase when I get there.  From what I saw, it's not that broad a scope as far from 8 to noon, I thought it was way more limited, like to the half hour.  And if you're 10 minutes late, I think you lose out.  I could be wrong but I thought that's what I read.

When we I was in Seattle a couple years ago we just bought thickets at the self serve ticket thing outside.  Shows what times are available and you buy the tickets right there.  We were able to get a slot within the 1/2 hour.

Columbia Center Skyview is better...and closer to Safeco.
