I would love pre-2000 recordings to be touched up and released. My guess is the recordings often aren’t the best quality or some other issue may have screwed it up here and there, but flac HD of the 96/98 tours and a no code tour cd bootleg box and a yield bootleg cd box would pretty much complete my desires for merch from the band.

There were plans to do a bootleg program in 98. Fell apart
Really? What happened?
@mcgruff10 I can't remember the fine details, but I think this was in the last 10c Deep issue? It was a pretty killer history of the live bootleg program and what gear was used. I think Kelly Curtis wanted to launch it for the 98 US tour. Am I making this up? Anyone?
I don't think they like looking back so anything beyond a single show seems unlikely, but that was the peak of PJ taping, so there are great recordings of all NA shows.

Kinda. in the 1993... section its mentioned that Kelly wanted to release every show. Then in the 1998 section they mentioned that Brett's job was to record every show but problems with Tape change vs. FOH engineering complicated the process of recording each show.
I believe they will surely be released one day. They have been strategically releasing all kinds of merch for the past couple of years. As the tour dates and album sales continue to decline, I would not be shocked to see these see the light of day.

summer/fall 98 was a great time to be trading cassette tapes. Every other day I had some arriving. My mailman used to crack up.

those were the days. I made a pretty decent recording of Knoxville 98 on my little hand held tape recorder.

Only Alpine versions I've ever been able to find......quality sucks. I would love a release. And the poster but would settle for an official bootleg release.
Like a word misplaced...nothing said...what a waste

i taped 2 PJ shows on audio in 1998...then they came up with that stupid policy of the mic had to be built in...no external mics LOL OK WHATEVER...i continued to tape in 2000 but it was all stealth. then they got their shit together and now i know there will be official boots so i don't tape PJ...and i was smart enough in 2013 to realize

i am pretty sure that I used an external mic(I hope the statute of limitations is passed)... I had non 10club seats for that show otherwise would've been BUSTED. I too quit taping when the official boots came out.
PS- I got busted recording REM in 1999. they just took my tape recorder. luckily they didn't throw me out.

I did the same for Kansas City 1998, though it picked up my singing, so kind of annoying to go back and listen to. Haha!

LOL. yeah. it was hard getting it right. I lost so many potential shows by not having the input mixed correctly.
I have SP show from the HORDE tour in 98 that sounds like muffled thunder. totally unlistenable.

i used to call myself the world's worst taper because i was so unprofessional about it...so here's ME in a group of people/fans that were so hard core and uptight about every little taping/recording detail. i still managed to get very good recordings even if u can hear me yell for betterman more than once in 1998. its part of the charm about those old recordings. so ed steps back from the mic, and points to me, and says "ok this is for you and ummm" its audible on the tape i made for myself so i know it actually happened otherwise i would have said it was the mushrooms talking to me

My recollection, consistent with these old Five Horizons news updates (http://www.fivehorizons.com/news/old1998.shtml), was that a forthcoming live album was announced shortly after the tour. The working title of the album was supposedly at one point "Pearl Jam Live at Constitution Hall," a single-disc collection of highlights from that show, but the project obviously turned into Live on 2 Legs. 15 years later, they finally released the entire 9/19/98 Constitution Hall show.
They obviously have the bulk of the tour, if not all of it, recorded. I'd love a complete release, but I'm guessing the best we can hope for is occasional vault releases. So far it's just 7/13/98 and 9/19/98, plus a few SBD bootlegs (3/5/98, 7/22/98, 9/16/98).

A good recording of 9/11/98 MSG is by far the thing I want the most. It was such a special show. And they were on fire that night. I was lucky enough to be there, and have a crap recording of the show. I would buy every version of it if the band put it out.
