This is the first time they have canceled a show due to Ed's voice in the 27 years they have been a band.  I think he knows how to handle his voice.  You may not like it how it has aged but oh well.

I travelled to London for both nights from Italy. Obviously gutted for how things went for the second one. Eddie was really struggling so I'm convinced they took the best decision in order to be able to keep up the tour. By the way, once again he demonstrared to be an incredible performer even in bad shape. I'm going to see them also in Milan and Padova. The lack of official communications is preoccupating me but I really hope everything will work out well. Just like others said...health is the main thing.

P.S. I think that ticket refunds for thise who will not be able to make the postponed date is just the right thing to do.

i don't think they can't not give folk refunds.  They've changed the terms and conditions of the ticket.  i don't know of any event that has had the date changed where refunds were not offered.

I hope the 10C think very carefully about how they are going to handle refunds / rescheduling.

I'm already peeved that I was put in a position where I spent $450 on London tickets because I wanted 10C admission enough to enter the lottery for both shows (and subsequently 'won' both nights). Then peeved that there was no mechanism in place to pass unwanted tickets back to fans who really wanted them, without having to physically collect and handover the wristbands. Peeved that the 2nd night was postponed after I'd already started , and paid for, travelling and, finally, peeved that despite the early admission promise, 10C members still had to queue for an hour before being let in.
I think it'll be the end of my 10C membership if no refunds are offered for 10C tickets where people can't make the rescheduled date....I'm really not sure my 10C tickets gave me much advantage over just buying GA tickets as soon as they went on general sale.

On a positive note, now that my petty rant is over, Monday's London show was fabulous, despite Ed not being able to belt out some of the big stuff. I hardly noticed he was struggling, the atmosphere kind of softened any issues as well. Hope Ed is resting his voice long enough to prevent damage.

I will be shocked if 10C doesn't offer refunds. That would be so wrong, and surely they know that. I think people just need to be patient and wait for the refund instructions... If they never come, I hope you all raise a big stink about it.

    It happens.

-fans are allowed to vent. Vacations are really expensive and hard to plan.  Disappointment is to be expected.  A lot of folks probably cant make it to the new date.  Sucks.

-the band probably feels like crap and probably no one more than Eddie.  Just unfortunate all the way around.

A comment about refunds should have been made at the same time as the cancellation notice or shortly thereafter.

Making fans twist in the wind for days is a stunningly minor league move.

Well, as there hasn't been a cancellation notice yet I can understand there's also not yet a comment about refunds. :)
I guess they first want to have certainty about the rescheduled concert before communicating anything about refunds.

Hopefully Ed's OK, and the tour goes on. Would be nice to get some official comms from TC to confirm if the rest of the Euro shows are happening ASAP, so people who've got flights/hotels booked, etc, could at least cancel them (if needed) BEFORE getting to the venue!

Im sure 10c will refund those who cannot make the rearranged show, whenever that is. There's no reason to think they wouldnt have a process in place once the date is announced. Why would anyone even think that refunds were in jeopardy?

As for being peeved about the lottery and selling on unwanted tickets, the strict methods stop the touting of these tickets, very clearly stated on terms of membership, there were fans that lost out on london tickets in the lottery and would have been delighted to have won. All i can say is if you didnt want two lots of tickets then you shouldnt have entered the drawing. Winning them through 10c is far easier than trying to score tickets through general sale and having early entrance is great at the venues even if the security checks made the wait a little longer than expected.

Has anyone heard any potential dates for London? By looking at the venue availabilty im guessing it would be the 18th or 19th July, hoping its not the 20th when the gaslight anthem are in london.

Hoping everyone has a great time in Milan tonight and that Ed is back on form, maybe the set will be longer although its a festival so not the gauge for a full PJ show.

If it is the 21st will make it slightly easier for most travelling fans.

So far everything appears to be on track for tonight’s show in Milan. The band tested out Not For You during their soundcheck, according to the @pearjamonline.it Twitter account. That seems like a pretty good indication of how Ed is feeling about his voice.

These are the worst comments here. Honestly. When someone is looking forward to something fir months and suddenly it goes away , why do they not have the right to be upset? I don’t get this attitude. Are there worse things that can happen in life? Duh! Yes of course but cmon.

The tour is likely to resume in Milan. Even if I was a bit disappointed by the cancellation of the 2nd London date, I am glad that the tour is not cancelled. Can’t wait for Berlin,Werchter and, why not, a rescheduled London show ... I hope that I will be wrong, but cancelling the date is probably an easier solution for the band considering the short time frame to handle everything.

Having looked at the O2 events calendar there is already a show on the 21st (Hola London???) and looking at all the other dates there is never 2 different shows on consecutive nights so I think 20 or 21 is out.  My money (literally) is on the 18th or 19th.

Sitting in Heathrow with my wife waiting for the plane back to NY feeling mixed emotions. We had some really bad luck Monday night that got worse when the cancellation was announced. My wife and I both drew tickets for Night 2 so several months ago I swapped with another board member for his fan club presale GA seats for N1 (not officiall 10 Club seats but all signs pointed toward a legit deal).  Turns out these tickets were not valid...I nearly lost it when we were denied entry, but focused, recovered and was able to find a guardian angel who had an extra GA (didn’t catch your name but THANK YOU if you are reading this). My wife just said “go have fun” and she retreated back to the hotel, missing the show. I missed the first 3 songs but then settled in and had a heck of a night.

We made the most of our “day off” in London on Tuesday and a little bad luck turned around when I randomly ran into Matt Cameron on the street. He was as cool as you would expect and I just told him to tell Ed we are all pushing for him to get better real soon, and that we would see him in Boston!

Amazing trip to London, one very enjoyable show but yes, feeling a bit listless now and bummed my wife missed both shows (honestly I think we just miss our kids).  Couple lessons learned: don’t make trades for non 10C tickets and more importantly, every show is a gift.
I am so very sorry to read this.
Oh man I would have cried if I got the chance to meet Matt Cameron. However important Pearl Jam are to me, Soundgarden are equally so. Did you grab a photo with him?
I was tempted to ask but something told me to let it go. Who knows how the band members must have been feeling. I’m sure he would have obliged though!  He’s simply the best.
There's a reason he is called Matt Fucking Cameron. So glad that you were able meet Matt.

Thank you for sharing your story and for reminding us all that every show really is a gift.
Thank you for your words / thoughts.  Well, looks like Italy is on so that means I'll be reuniting with the boys in Boston (and hopefully one or two more before that I'm trying for).  Simply put = thrilled and no regrets.

I'm hoping it's not the 20th as I'm seeing The Gaslight Anthem at the 59 sound in full that night and I don't want that decision :(
I doubt it will be the 20th, its Pearl Jam Fireworks night at the Seattle Mariners..

Having looked at the O2 events calendar there is already a show on the 21st (Hola London???) and looking at all the other dates there is never 2 different shows on consecutive nights so I think 20 or 21 is out.  My money (literally) is on the 18th or 19th.
agree with you there for the 18th and 19th
I think so too, but I don't like it :( Will be harder for me to travel mid-week. Because, you know, it's all about me =)

Hopefully they announce soon so we can figure this out!

Edit: On second thoughts, I think 17/18 is more likely. They need to be back in Seattle on the 20th so I think unlikely they would play a show on the 19th.
