Vitalogy in 2018???

SVRDhand13SVRDhand13 NYC Posts: 25,845
5 of the first 6 albums have been played in their entirety.  The one missing is Vitalogy which has some oddball tracks that cannot be easily replicated in a live setting.  I have a gut feeling that they play it in its entirety sometime this year with a Foxymop track playing as the bands takes the stage or leaves for an encore. As I'm writing this I'm realizing that Europe has not gotten a full album show (or any show for that matter) since the concept was brought back in 2014.

If it were to happen in the US this year then Missoula would be my bet. Off the beaten path a bit, much like Moline.

I'd absolutely love to get an album in it's entirety in Madrid. However, if I'm honest I'd love to hear Ten start to finish, just for the nostalgia effect.

I've always openly said that the one album I wouldn't want to hear from begining to end would be TEN, and I was wrong.  Got it in Philly and it was amazing!

Not saying it is. I'm saying that in a four city tour through Seattle, Chicago and Boston, Missoula is the odd man out.

I was actually thinking about your idea with foxymop being played as they take the stage just the other day.  My twist was a bit different, and only seemed better the more I thought.  With that entrance......Vitalogy would be really cool played from back to front.  with Not For You, Spin the Black Circle, and Last Exit running right into the meat of the first set.  They could do some really cool light and sound things with Foxymop at the beginning - going right into Immortality.  Just a thought.

Missoula will also be filled with die hard 10c fans as well. A Monday show in a city that has limited lodging and expensive airfare to get to. It’s a trek to make it to that show and I expect those folks going are going to be rewarded big time.

Since Vitalogy has always been the album I come back to as my favorite in the end, I have been waiting for this show for a while.

However, the idea of playing it BACKWARDS by Gtilley8 totally blew my mind! What a setlist!

    0. Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me (Entrance Track)

    1. Immortality
    2. Aye Davanita
    3. Better Man
    4. Satan’s Bed
    5. Bugs
    6. Corduroy
    7. Pry, To
    8. Whipping
    9. Nothingman
    10. Tremor Christ
    11. Not For You
    12. Spin The Black Circle
    13. Last Exit

Then, dive into a normal main set.

This would be so incredibly cool to see. It would be such a long but rewarding buildup!
Now I’m tempted to start listening to the album backwards every once in a while...

Something about the Foxymop intro to a show really made it feel like a cool idea.  It just feels like there's so much you can do with all that noise to start a show.  Yeah, it's one of the weird ones - but I think it would make it pretty fun.  Just so many different performance-type things they could do with it.  I just looked up the stats on Immortality, it's never been an opener.  With Foxymop, that would be more of an intro than an opener IMO.

Glad I could add something to the discussion.  I'll have to listen to it in reverse order now, And be hopeful that if they decided to do it, it would be on Saturday night in Chicago. That said, I was lucky enough to have been at the Vs show - so, I can't be greedy.  Good luck to all.  Hope some show out there gets Vitalogy.  Such a great album.....and the one I jam out on guitar the most in my spare time.

This would not happen on this type of tour.  major baseball stadiums, etc.    Maybe in Europe.

I think for this to happen in the states, it would need to be an arena tour.

I got Binaural in Toronto a couple years ago.
...and THAT was a bold move (as compared to playing No Code in Moline)...lesser known album...larger crowd. To be honest, I was really surprised they did in Toronto as crowds - at times - can be a bit fickle.
