I have done it a few times.  People are very nice and let you leave for a pee break!  Plus I will be there most of the afternoon for ya!  If someone does an overnight!  I will pay for all meals!

So the etiquette is no saving a spot for your ticket buddy??  Like I plan on getting in line on Monday at 9am. My ticket buddy can’t get there until 2 most likely. So that means I’ll get the stink eye if he joins me?? Just curious. I don’t want to be “that guy”.

Stupid question, as Ten Club members don't we get in before other GA ticket holders? I thought I read something about a special wristband. So it still pays to spend all day in line?

To me, saving 1 spot for your ticket buddy is fine.  The problem is it becomes a slippery slope for those large groups of people that have 1-2 people "saving" their spot.

That’s what I thought. Ticket buddy is fine, but not saving a spot for other people. Like if I was in line and a guy in front of me had his ticket buddy meet him at 6, I’d have no issue with that at all. But if him & his ticket buddy let 4 people in, well then....

I waited in line back in 96 with no ticket.  My ticket buddy showed up about 10min before the doors opened and we went in.  People could not have been nicer.  If he hadn't shown up in time, obviously I was SOL.

But I agree that it's a different time now and people are crazy.  You very well may get some grief from other people.  Be interesting to see what the 10C staff think about this.  I know they were pretty active in shutting down that list bullshit that was going around in 2013 (or was it 2016)?

It's General Admission.  Nobody should be rude nor feel entitled.  We are all 10C members and should respect each other and other's situations as such.  Getting back to your partner and receiving a "stink eye" after using the restroom or whatever the circumstances are is BS.  Just saying...

The concept of the GA line is not to be able to buy or trade your way to the front. If you simply say I will give you the opportunity to have my extra ticket even if you pay for it in exchange for you saving me a space in line that is essentially what you are doing. 

There re are many people who would love to be able to fly in earlier but can't. People who would love to pay someone to stand there. None of these things should matter. When you get in line, that is your spot. 

In my experience depending where you are in line will depend on how the people around you respond. 

Towards the front of the line, the people who have waited a significant amount of time or camped out, I have seen people get very upset at someone for arriving later with the expectation to join their ticket buddy.

These are the kind of unwritten rules of camping out or long line waiting:

when you arrive that is where your spot in line is. I agree you probably have about an hour window to join with your partner but after that you go to the back of the line. You stay in line only to leave to get food or go to the bathroom. If you are gone for more than an hour or so that is not cool. 

When people stay close to these parameters, things go smoothly, when they don't things start getting somewhat ugly. Just my experience.

Free ticket still available!  Also, just to clear things up, I am not trying to just walk into the line at 5:00 with a clean head of hair and a full belly!  I just cant get the full day of work off that day and need to get to the line in the afternoon.  Just trying to help out a fan club member that didnt get a ticket.

Just picture that you are 20th in line waiting and you are pretty happy that you are getting a spot on the rail in a few hours.

Over the course of the next few hours you realize that the line has doubled and you are now 40th in line because all the "ticket buddys" have shown up considerably later than when you first arrived.

Not saying this happens but just to put it in perspective.

Yes, that would be extremely annoying.  Here's what happened to me once which is probably even worse: one person on line lets about six other people join them because "they were holding a spot for the entire group".

Just wait until people leave the line for 6 - 8 hours to eat, see some sights, shower, shave, put a kid through college, have a slurpee and then power nap.
