Anyone know if there was any push for it to get a nom?

    What does an oscar nom push entail, and who would be motivated to do that?

    It’s the studio that produces/releases the film. They place “For Your Consideration” ads in the Hollywood trade papers and the entertainment sections of Los Angeles newspapers. Run a lot of TV commercials around the time the ballots get sent out to the voters. Send the Academy members screening DVD’s of the film. It’s just like politicians right before an election. A lot of expensive publicity.
