I honestly don't get the fascination with silver cds (replicated) over cdr-s (duplicated) both are inferior life stage products, but the latter if you buy digital files and burn them yourself provides a level of control over what you own. What bugs me is the price that nugs ends up driving on duplicated discs. That is a rip off.
cd-r feels more like do it yourself. Also dye based discs half a short life span, but for me it gives them a whole do it yourself kind of vibe. It'd be like ordering a bluray movie and finding out they burned it. Silver Pressed cd, dvd, or bluray is more professional and what you kind of expect when buying a legitimate good.
That being said I understand why nugs burns discs. The demand probably isn't there to do pressings. At least not for most shows.
