where to stay in London?

where is everyone staying? I'll be in London for 4 nights.  Was thinking of staying near the 02 for the show nights and maybe over in Soho for the 1st 2 nights.  I'm open to suggestions- traveling solo.....

  • Well anywhere in the city is ideal actually since there is tube/subway station right by the arena. Should take 20 mins from soho/oxford
do think about the pissibility of Pj playing long setlist and u ended up missing the train though. But there is always taxi etc

Considering the Intercontinental at the O2, but it’s sooo expensive! Otherwise will stay somewhere on the Jubilee line so that I don’t have to transfer.
  • Intercontinental is convenient for the O2 but on a bit of a wasteland itself and not really much else to do out there. Better to stay in the centre and use the tube to get to the O2. Never had an issue getting to or from the arena. Tubes will be busy but work well.

I booked a hostel on Union Street along the Jubilee Tube Line. It seems there is not much out there near the O2.

The one piece of advice that I wished one of my friends had told me is DO NOT take a taxi from the airport to your hotel. We didn't feel like taking the Tube and decided to "get there quicker" by taking a cab. Hmmm... I think the ride from the airport to our hotel by the Tower took about an hour and a half to two hours. It was a nightmare and my wife wouldn't tell me what the fare cost, because I was already about to lose it. Tube it!
We stayed at the Citizen M hotel and it had a great view of the Tower, but the room was a tiny, strange, space-age dwelling. Very "hip" and stylish and right next to a station, but strange.

    Nothing since then. I suck.

If your flying into London Heathrow then staying in Woking is a cheaper option than central London, there is a direct coach link from the bus station at the airport to the town center.  Woking is a 25 min train ride into London Waterloo which is on the Jubilee line.

London has many great areas in which to stay....just make sure you are close to a tube station.

Airport transport is very easy via the Tube, or if you don't mind spending extra dough, take the Heathrow Express which takes you to Paddington Station.
  • try to get a travelodge or the like near the jubilee line
  • Travelodge/premier inn is a safe bet, or airbnb.  And remember Gatwick is not actually in London.... neither is Luton.

Don’t ever get a taxi to London. Tube/train/national express coaches are best and cheapest. Look up Premier Inn places as they are reasonably well kept places.

Travel lodge is cheapest and is no fuss basic hotel they are comfortable enough. Just rubbish for food but when in london no need to eat at a hotel. I think there will be more over seas at london than actual londeners. Should be great meeting everyone from the world. Haha

I booked a room at Point A Hotel in Canary Warf  https://www.pointahotels.com/our-hotels/canary-wharf.html#7qxJF4TA4OJdUAqs.97  The  rates are reasonable but the rooms look very small, but its just for sleeping I know there are some pubs close by and the tube to the O2 isnt far away.
