Playing devil's advocate here:  if she had NOT Posted about her workplace, she would not have been cyber-bullied.
One could say she was trying to protect the woman replacing her, but maybe that woman does her own homework too.

Just saying..... i would not post on social media criticizing my job....

I am sorry she did this.  Nobody should feel like they have to do this.
I don't blame some tools at their computers typing nonsense.
Sorry for her family and friends.

If she wasn't wearing that outfit she wouldn't have been raped, is that how it goes?

Oh damn... does it sound that way?   I certainly do not feel that way about how one dresses...

I will stand by my belief that people share too much on social media and the general public SUX and will pounce on you.
Probably why i do not do twitter or facebook.

I hope Melania helps with cyber-bullying.  (yeah, right)

No, that's not how it sounds; ignore that part.

Social media, and in fact much of the Internet, is a cesspool of trolling, doxing, and mindless hatred. It almost doesn't matter what one posts on some sites; there will be people who pile on in this way. The "just kill yourself" comments are mind-boggling common.

I agree with you that it's unwise to post on social media anything critical of your job/employer (assuming you're posting openly, of course). In my opinion at least 90% of what's posted online is unwise. But if you're posting at all, expect to be flamed at times.

I'm not sure anyone can criticize the LBTGQ community (attack mob) without being called a bigot.
She expressed her reasons for not wanting to work with a gay porn actor, which seem reasonable to me and she was ridiculed mercilessly. The online attack mob tried to ruin her career, mission accomplished, she took wheelers advice and killed herself.

I don't understand this new norm of trying to ruin someone's professional life over something that was posted to social media?

    depressing

You need to keep up and pay attention.
Her issue wasn't  with a porn actor who are gay.
It was with male porn actors who had done gay porn. There's  a difference.
Explain to me where the problem is.  Are you not backing her choice?
    I do support her choice
She is not the first nor the last to make that choice

Melania Trump attempting to be a spokesperson against cyber-bullying (if a couple of lame speeches about it can be classified as being a spokesperson at all) is one of the most ridiculous things that has come out of the this presidency. I mean, how can she have so little shame?!? I just don't get it.... It is possible that she's doing it specifically to spite her husband???? Like, she is completely aware of the irony, and she's doing it to highlight Trump's crazy online behaviour? That is really the only theory that even comes close to finding a logical reason behind it as far as her motives are concerned.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility? Put the phone down, walk away, delete your social media accounts, create another online identity. WTF is wrong with people that their whole life exists online? Are people that shallow or personally irresponsible?

I don't think she was making that distinction. Her reason was "I don't know what they do on their free time."  To me that clearly sounds like it's a gay lifestyle issue, and not a movie choice issue.
Her own words it wasn't that they had done gay porn that bothered her, but that doing gay porn apparently put them in a different category of a more dangerous lifestyle in her mind.
all that being said, I don't think she was making the distinction between gay porn actors and gay-porn actors like you were.

I confess to not reading much of this thread and I feel badly about anytime someone kills themselves and I don't mean to be overly critical here but I can't help feeling a) this is not a real hot current events topic (more like sensationalism) and b) her husband did say, "Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time."  I can respect that.

This whole thing seems so weird to me.
if this isn't an example of an industry that just exploits women then I don't know what is. She was 23 and had done over 270 movies in 4 years. The sad part about this is that a 19 year old can be considered a star for being exploited like that.
Ewually woerd to me is her director husband. I could never direct that.
I don't think it warranted "cyber bully" status, but I could see how some would be offended by her comments. Spedicially mentioning their personal lives and not just the gay porn issue. She basically said if you do gay porn then you live an irresponsible lifestyle. Like straight porn people can't have risky personal lifestyles? Sure, she can have the right to chose who to work with, but the reason did seem condenscending towards an entire group of people. So not surprising some were offended by it.
