Mike McCready signed and donated a 'Rola' (formerly known as 'Union Jack') guitar amplifier used by his Flight to Mars tribute band for the 15th Annual ’Flight To Mars 2017’ benefit shows in Seattle.
This auction is one in a series of weekly auctions supporting Pearl Jam's Vitalogy Foundation to raise funds for non-profit organizations that the band supports. Each band member has 3-4 spotlight non-profits they are personally involved with that are among the Vitalogy Foundation's annual beneficiaries. Mike's spotlight non-profits include Treehouse, Patient Advocate Foundation - Jennifer Jaff CareLine, and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (CCF). Head cabinet measuring 21-⅝ in. (W) x 8-½ in. (D) x 11 in. (H). Amplifier head weighs 26.50 lbs. Cabinet top, bottom, sides, and removable rear panel covered in black Tolex; cabinet face covered in blonde Tolex with silver edge piping. Flat black metal corners and black padded top handle. Gold front and rear control panel faces with black etched labeling, including “Flight To Mars 2017” on front control panel. Black etched “Union Jack” logo on separate gold panel located on blonde cabinet face. Four large black rubber feet on bottom of cabinet.
Amplifier is 40w, single channel with “hi/lo” inputs. Internal design is UJA’s “Rocker” circuit, based off 60’s era ‘blackface’ Fender amplifiers. Contains (1) TAD 7025WA high-grade and (1) Sovtek 12AX7LPS pre-amp tubes; (2) matched Tung-Sol 6L6GC power tubes. Mercury Magnetics ‘ToneClone Plus+” transformers. Designed for use with 120v/60Hz power sources.
Front panel controls: Power (toggle); Standby (toggle); purple power on/off lamp jewel; Master Volume, Bass, Treble, Volume (gain) knobs; (2) ¼” input jacks. Rear panel controls: (2) ¼” speaker output jacks; 4/8/16-ohm impedance selector knob; full/half power toggle; (2) fuses and female IEC electrical connection jack (IEC Edison power cable included). All knobs (front & rear) are black ‘chicken head’-style. Amplifier can be utilized in full 40w mode, or in half-power 20w mode at the flip of a single toggle switch. Additionally, with the master volume control, the amplifier can overdrive at low volumes and cleans up nice for use with boost/overdrive/fuzz pedals.
