I can't seem to pm people. I always thought you just clicked on their icon. Help?

On any page at the bottom click the little file box with the arrow pointing down and then type in the username you want to send the p.m. to

You may be posting on their wall...
after you click on their avatar,
you should see a "message" button in the upper right corner underneath the New Discussion button.

Click on this button and you'll get a dialog box to send the PM.
