I had such an amazing time! I think I still have my sunburn from waiting in-line for merchandise all morning.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Besides the awesome show, I just remember the intense heat and the hot, dry wind that was blowing all day.  It sucked that it rained but it did cool it off for the rest of the week.

At least the 7-11 & McDonald's existed back then.

Had to look at the tour archives to see which show this was and saw the poster... ok, so why does a cowboy poster with 4 eyes creep everyone out, but a Wrigley poster with a monster batter with 7 eyes is hardly ever mentioned?

    What a great time!
One of my favorite shows ever, despite the shitty weather.

    Great show, great time...

BUT, it is the poster child for why I hate outdoor shows and try to skip them usually... it was WAY too fucking hot and was followed by a wicked storm which almost ruined the entire night and road trip

Agreed! The whole trip was an experience I would never trade - an extremely memorable one - but damn, that weather was a bitch, and not just because of the delay during the show (the actual delay for me was a curious combo of fun, intrigue, and hell, lol - definitely an unforgettable and weird couple of hours for me, especially when my phone battery ran out only half an hour into it while I was separated from my ticket buddy. Sorry Jim! ;) ). I do not favour outdoor shows. All that said, the sound at Wrigley was WAY better than I expected it to be. I heard that it wasn't so good under the balconies where it echoed, but out where I was it sounded pretty great for an outdoor show. And I really enjoyed the setlist too.... And that Release opener was, IMO, the best Release opener of all time. That was just amazing. It was a very special moment for Eddie, clearly.
And it was super fun to meet all the people I did!! I truly cherish that part. Not to mention the 10 or so hours I spent in the Art Institute of Chicago - that was incredible for me. Oh, and I saw Phish. Haha, nah, it was a fun time - good people ... I just didn't like the actual band, but that's okay. It was a cool enough concert vibe that I'd actually go see them again just for that.
But I hope to never ever ever experience the kind of heat that I suffered in Chicago. That part SUCKED. I don't like just normal summer heat each year, let alone that crazy Chicago heatwave shit. That was just awful.

It was my favorite of the bunch, but the wife has relegated it to a dark corner of our bedroom behind a table lamp. Meanwhile, my daughter has Cracker Jack proudly displayed in her room.

If it wasn't for the 2 hour weather delay could have been one of my favorites.  Still an awesome trip/experience.  Met tons of new people, great time!  solid set list.

I was trying so hard to make it to this because it would have been my first show. When it didn't work out I was pretty upset. Still wish I was able to make it though.

Stuck behind the left field wall for like 2 hours....pretty miserable but it was an incredible show. Getting to see Ernie Banks come out was something that I'll always remember. Luckily I made the 2 Wrigley shows last year as well but I can't say that 2013 wasn't my favorite. Plus that was the first time my girlfriend had seen them live. I told her it was probably down hill from there. Haha.
