edited June 2017 in The Porch
Well the last competition was probably over from the start, but this one should me MUCH more competitive.

We will evaluate each LP from the Greatest Hits release Rearviewmirror.
We will get a winner from each LP and those 4 will compete to find the winner.

For anyone new to the game:
You are going to pick the song that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the two (2) songs with the most votes.
We will then move on to Round 2. - Remember you are voting to eliminate songs from contention.

Have FUN!

Poll will close on Sunday, 6/25 at 3:00pm cst

    EDIT:

My first take was that there's no right answer here but that's of course wrong. Dissident is a bit weaker than the rest.

Love this one, MedozK. Should be fun!

I'll be the first to admit that Dissident would probably get my next vote, but it's an awesome song!

    Excellent ides, MK!

Looks like a no-brainer to start but it's going to get tougher fast!

Wow! Im blown away by the dislike for Dissident.  I absolutely love that song. Clearly I'm in the minority on that one.

I don't dislike Dissident, but out of these songs, it's my least favorite. I've noticed that when we do these polls voting gets confused with hate sometimes.

Dissident is one of those songs that is superb on the album but doesn't get better live.  Like I Got Shit.

Bite your tongue! TWICE! Haha. But mainly because I got shit is the shit live. Would love to get NY with it sometime, but they do just fine without him.

Exactly. We're talking about comparing the band's greatest hits. All great tunes.

Poor Jeff playing that riff over & over & over. He's got to hate playing this song.

Although I didn't choose it, I could've gone with the argument that "Once" is the anomaly on this collection.

    Think about it:
    i) It wasn't a single.
ii) I don't recall it getting any radio play like some of the non-singles (Better Man, Corduroy, etc.) that were included.
iii) It was already on a major release (where I Got Id and the two Singles soundtrack songs weren't)

Heck, Porch would have probably been a better choice. It had/has more overall live performances - including high-profile shows like SNL and MTV Unplugged.

Make no mistake, Once is a great tune. However, I think the only reason it was included was because they had that Brendan O'Brien remix.

So when all is said and done with these RVM/Hits matches, will Corduroy still be the winner?

    I'm guessing it won't.

    Well, that's the interesting part.

And if we repeated the polls in six months, I'm guessing we won't get the same answers. Different crowd voting, and some people may feel differently.

Jeremy is almost criminally underrated at this point. It's an incredible song that still pops the live crowd to this day.
