After all the (great!) time spent on this polls only one song will be the last standing. I hope it´s Release.

I did what I thought I would never do by voting Release... BUT, if someone comes to me and says "Who is Pearl Jam?" There is no way I am playing Release for them, they aren't ready for that power and beauty. What I am doing is throwing in the Greenville bootleg, turning up the volume and letting them listen to Corduroy and watching their face change in awe as they hear it. And then responding at the end of the song by saying "THAT is who motherfucking Pearl Jam is."

Release is just beautiful but Corduroy is a classic - a song that epitomizes the band's attitude and sound.

Tough call. These days I prefer Release. But back in the day, I remember when I first heard Corduroy. I was like wow, that's one of the coolest songs I've ever heard.

Still bummed that RVM left last round, but at least I can try to let Corduroy take its rightful place.

Go Corduroy!  Such an amazing song.  Great lyrics!  And that great open E string/ E note on the A string/ B note on the D string triad opening riff followed by those great descending F/E/G chords.  How can you not love it!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Release should never have made it this far. It's a great song live, but it's not even the best on Ten.

Totally agree. Corduroy live represents an aspect of what Pearl Jam is to me.

Yeah, I can't really make a case against it.  I can make a case against Release, but not Corduroy.

I think Black or maybe Alive should have won, but then again...the magic of Ten is only one album, and Corduroy represents their sound better.

Just a badass song, and I keep going back and watching Jack Black mime it on Instagram, it makes me appreciate Ed's amazingly powerful vocals even more.

The essence of early Pearl Jam. A jam that turns into their most cathartic song ever. Goodbye Corduroy!

I love Release with all my heart but it doesn't belong here. Shouldn't have won Ten and shouldn't win now.

Release definitely should have won Ten. Get over Black it's the worst song on Ten.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

In 15O years, Black will be their 5th symphony, their 1812 Overture, their Messiah chorale...
