April 2003 Bootlegs

Having been listening to many of the 2003 boots recently, I can't help but notice how incredibly strong the mid to late April shows were. For me, the Lexington-St Louis-Champaign-Cleveland-Pittsburgh-Philadelphia-Albany impressive 7 straight show run can't be beat. The quality of the performances, diversity of the setlist and the way they flow, Ed's strong and consistent vocals, and lastly the audio of the boot mixes are simply stellar. Not to mention the many others near that time in April, classics like Buffalo and State College; then the sleeper gigs like WPB, Nashville and Charlotte that are wonderful gigs in the same vein. 2003 was an epic tour, but that leg and that month are something else. What do you all think?

i was at the philly/albany/long island shows that year
    great setlists
albany show was intense. so much energy that when the crowd was exiting the venue it seemed like everyone was still super hyped and noisy from the show. i remember it as not many slow songs being played but looking at the setlist now..5 or 6 were 'slow' songs so it was a pretty energetic show.

then going to the 2 MSG shows and 3 Boston shows. when that was over it felt weird to NOT being going to see PJ the next week haha.
great year to see them, i've never been to that many shows in one year before or since. (ticket prices were literally half of what they are now too!)
    First Show: Springfield, MA 4/6/94

I go back to 2003 bootlegs probably more than any other year. I like the sound quality, and, to me, I hear an edge in the bands sound. Or anger. Or something
