Thank god this band did not take on that guy's personality.

Sounds like the band send out the open invite letter, but didn't get in touch with him directly to invite him and/or work out the logistics?

I still think the guy has the right to complain about how the RRHOF overlooked him for induction. Just because it's the way it is, doesn't mean you have to like it :) Obviously it was something he really wanted, and he kind of got f'd over.

Sorry, Pearl Jam is my favorite band too but it doesn't have to be all roses and unicorns.

I think any discussion should end with this- if Dave were such a talented drummer, why has he been able to land a solid gig in twenty something years? Either he's a tool or not as talented believe. I side with both.

On Facebook, however, Abbruzzese said Pearl Jam's statement did not qualify as an official invitation. "The band tweeted that they welcomed the idea of the event granting the possibility of all the drummers to be in the same room. That isn't an invite."
This reads to me like they extended the hand, and he wanted no part. I loved the guy, hes a big reason I fell in love with them, but man, hes just his own worst enemy.

Why is he continuing to bitch if he wasn't going to go invited or not? This is the most attention he's had in 20 years so I think he's trying to milk it as long as possible.

I think the guy was a good drummer and played with the band during some very integral years, but man he is starting to sound like a douche with all this complaining.

Did he ever think of reaching out to the band?

Lots and lots of complaining from this guy. First he complains the Hall didn't induct him. Then its that he wasn't invited. Then he supposedly gets invited......doesn't go.......complains he wasn't invited. He needs to move on.

At this point I'm glad he wasn't originally invited and wasn't there. His actions now speak volumes.

Can this guy please just go away and stop embarrassing himself? I can't believe he's still going on and on about this. Wow!

    100% agree.

Pearl Jam really took the high road on this with the open letter thanking all the drummers. And Ed recognized Dave A. for being a great drummer in his induction speech. There's really not anything else that could have been expected from the band.
If you had a bad breakup with a girl you were dating many many years ago, you wouldn't invite her to your 25th wedding anniversary party just to have awkward moments.

Is the anniversary party, to a large extent, celebrating the accomplishments of your relationship with the ex?

Matt Chamberlain politely declined the invitation. Jack Irons graciously accepted the invitation. Dave...behaved like this.

it doesn't get any eddie vedder than this caption! ;)

but seriously, Dave A needs to let it go, this is beyond embarrassing.
If Dave A was invited why would anyone want to see such an awkward moment on stage? I think ed did that himself when going into his global warming speech lol.

I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
