Without sounding like a total idiot, I feel like they skimmed a bit on how great the fans have been like travelling everywhere they go etc.

Wonderful though, so weird to see these guys like Stone on TV giving speeches.

    Letterman was perfect

I think Letterman was just "ok". A shame Neil Young got sick; I was expecting a moving speech like Eddie for Neil, Flea for Metallica or Grohl for Rush.

The band speeches were really good, and they cared to bring Krusen, who was ready to play, to say a few words and stay.

The band was solid, great performance!
Yeah would much have rather had that kind of speech.

I enjoyed Lettermans speech. It was great.

But I will always wonder what Neils would have been like.

Disappointed Not for You wasn't played, if it is true it was on soundcheck. Really thought they'd throw something different into the set, but on the flipside I'm not surprised they played Alive, Betterman, Given to Fly and Rockin' In the Freeworld. All those songs have reason to be there and awesome anyway, and glad to hear the speeches were great and performance was spot on. Can't wait to catch the broadcast!

Awesome seeing this and can't wait for the HBO broadcast. Thoroughly enjoyed Letterman. He kept the beard!! Great speeches from everyone, I especially loved Stone's. Good stuff and congrats again!

Amazing night. So happy and honored to have been there in section 118 which were great seats. Betterman was an incredible version. Speeches were great, especially Stone. The rest of the night was fun too. Going to sleep very happy.

What was the crowd like? Seemed fairly loud for an induction ceremony.

Bottom line...Dave Abbruzzese should have been there. Recognize his contributions. I love PJ but I don't understand why they can't acknowledge how he contributed to their legend.

He was there. The band invited him. Eddie said how great of a drummer he was in his speech.

Can we now move on and enjoy this again

The crowd was pretty great for this kind of event, when PJ was introduced in the opening by Jann Wenner they got a huge ovation, went on for over a minute. And when they came on for their induction the place was really loud. Steve Perry got a pretty big ovation too.

These changes to the RITFW lyrics has never worked except for the "police man..." one at Pinkpop with Dave A doing the "gunshot" thing with the drums, but gonna try this one out now.

Pearl Jam was on fire. I don't believe Dave A was in attendance but I may be wrong.  I didn't see him get on stage at any point. Being in the nosebleeds (section 213) we couldn't hear any of the speeches toward the beginning of the show. It wasn't until Journey (5th one inducted?) that we could hear them.  Couple that with some meatheads that kept pounding beers and getting loud, the first 3 hours were pretty rough. Horrible sound, tight seats (for this 6'3" frame), and asshats that didn't care that people were there to see anyone other than PJ. Again, the first 3 hours were rough. I asked politely for a couple guys on my row to tone it down since we were TRYING to enjoy the entire show, but all I got was a sarcastic remark (thanks douche!)

All in all, the back half of the show was phenomenal. Just wish we could have heard the front half as well.

Eds story about being stoned and having letterman talk to him thru the tv was hilarious. All the guys speeches were just great to be a part of. Historic night, great second encore basically. Letterman did what he does best and killed it. I woulda liked to see tom petty fill in but he's probably too stoned in California to be bothered on such short notice. Although Bruce is pretty local hmm. I loved elo and wished Jeff woulda popped out for the superjam. While I appreciate her historical importance that was a little too much Joan Baez for my tastes. I sat respectfully quiet for what seemed like an eternity at 9pm on a Friday night. Yes -holy crap don't do (too much) drugs kids! Look at what happens when you get old! Kidding. The lead singer was in space though, hilarious. The cape guy was funnier than letterman. And I enjoyed hearing them, and seeing geddy lee on bass with them. I'm aware of both those groups but wouldn't necessarily go see them, so very cool. And who doesn't love roundabout? Snoop was cool, heartfelt stories were told and you can tell he meant a lot to snoop as a person. and while the hof likes to mix it up by genres I think Tupac is way overrated, especially compared to other rappers in the early 90s that were nasty. He definitely wasn't the greatest rapper of all time, sorry snoop. Not even the top 5 rappers from California. I'm not a particular fan but Alicia keys is awesome, so talented. But Tupac was a face and an image, and rolling stone/hof needs that street cred, still cool to see. The journey thing was weird, I don't know enough about their situation but you could hear disappointment in the arena that Steve perry didn't perform. I think a lot thought he would.

But you knew everyone was there for pj. They didn't disappoint. It was light, it was serious, it was gracious. They are superheroes. It was pretty much a lock to hear those songs and I saw even people clad head to toe in yes gear getting down. Can't wait to rewatch.

One last thing did stone say "jamily" at one point? Ugh maybe I misheard. Hope so! Kidding (sort of)
