My wife's Grandfather fought in WWI. He died when her Mom was 10 days old in 1940.
He kept a diary that was really interesting. On Nov 11th 1918 he started his day off "going over the top" and indicated that he almost died that day due to gas.

Canadian? My grandfather was drafted into the "white" army of Russia before the revolution. I never met him, he was long dead before I was born. Two uncles fought in WWII and my dad was in Korea. Fortunately no draft since I was born.

Yup, she's deplorable. I would find myself from time to time feeling sorry for her (for example on Nov 8, 2016 and Inauguration Day) when it looked like she was miserable and didn't want anything to do with what was happening. But I always return to the fact that she picked it, and she's being paid handsomely for her companionship and offspring production.

And now that I'm finding out she's having these kinds of issues with WH staff and is now going out of her way to actually impact such things for stupid personal reasons, I respect her even less, if that's actually possible, which I'm not sure about.

He lived to be 88. He never mentioned the war to anyone. To my knowledge, I did not see physical health problems from the war. But he was an awful grumpy man(more like a miserable person) which I think was from the war .... because all his children, my aunts and uncles were very warm caring people...so I think he suffered mentally, he also was a very heavy drinker ... my mom said he came home late from work every night drunk. Last 7-8 years he suffered terribly from memory loss. Still glad I knew him, just more grateful that I now understand why he was so miserable. I can not even fathom what his thoughts were, but to live 60 years or so with that in your memory is awful...just awful.
